Lions Arch is going to confuse new players
I redid story myself, it took place in the new lions arch as far as I could tell =/
That is odd then. I am doing the Vigil quests and both the Destiny’s Edge quest and the introductory quest were in the old LA.
they could add a disclaimer like they did in gw1 that you were playing in old story so old areas that might not be used anymore
They did redo the Personal Story so that it used the LA that was pertinent to the story, rather than the destroyed LA, and then new LA. Players were confused when LA did not match the time period of the story (especially when it used destroyed LA – it made little sense).
The sepia tone and effects are supposed to indicate that the episode is taking place back in time.

Playing a game thats 3 years old, people should understand that things couldv’e changed.
They use sepia during the old lion’s arch ps parts to symbolize it’s in the past.
Why are we seeing all these posts lately saying how dumb new people are/will be? If anything we shouldn’t be enabling dumbing down the game. If anything all someone has to do is ask map chat or use the wiki and bam 2 seonds and answer solved.
I wish they wouldn’t use the sepia. I want to be able to walk around old LA and get that nostalgic feeling. This is the only way to see our beloved old LA afterall. The sepia makes it washed out. Hate it.

Turn off post-processing.
A shame fun things could not simply be fun.
Just wanted to weigh in on this. I just started playing about 5 weeks ago and just finished up the story last night (cannon glitch). I thought the story was really good, and I did not notice anything out of place or unusual in Lions Arch.
P.S best game ever ^^
Maybe add a pop-up indicating that they are now playing in a past version of Lion’s Arch. It’s a simple patch-up solution really.
Now that you’ve mentioned it, I wish they would add an NPC in the game that would “tell tales about the past Lion’s Arch”. What this NPC does is transport the player to the old Lion’s Arch, so he could wander around there and appreciate the sights (with all the events and NPC triggers disabled ofcourse). I myself want to see the old Lion’s Arch when nostalgia hits me sometimes. It may even bridge the gap for new players in the game. Oh wait, there’s already an NPC that gives a recap of what happened in LS1 (Magister Ela Makkay). How about this, give Magister Ela Makkay an additional dialogue option that will make the player character transport to the old Lion’s Arch. The dialogue would be as if Ela Makkay is interested to know more about the player character’s experience with the old Lion’s Arch, and this sequence would be like a flashback of sorts, but in playable form.

Bonus points if a random ‘glitch’ could throw you into the GW1 version. >_>

Yeah they do need to trim alot of stuff and check if it will cause any glitch. I thought it would be nice for new players to experience what we veterans had seen and experienced long ago, atleast to a degree. For instance, they will meet this iconic advertiser.
LA confuses even old players, as far as I can tell nobody quite understands why there isn’t a waypoint near the auction house.
