Guild Wars 2

So I was taking my ranger to Harathi Hinterlands to do the daily Kryta mining and discovered something very strange. I saw something lion-like in the distance, and decided to move my character a bit closer. Right I was! there was a LION. I got very chocked because I had no idea that Anet had introduced lions as new ranger pets. I tried googling it, but nothing came up. Is this a bug or glitch of some kind?

I know they had lions in GW1, but I’ve never heard or read anything about the idea of introducing them to GW2.

Was it a Juvenile?

There’s a mini lion cub in game. But this doesn’t look like a cub.

Was it like the Cranes in Kessex Hills? Ambient only – cannot even be selected?
