Because there are lots of them in this game.

For me, it was yesterday morning. I’m taking my 33-ish human thief through all the other racial starter areas, to get acquainted with them as well as complete some exploration chores. In one of the Caledon Forest outposts (a crafting area to the north, the name escapes me), I overheard two Sylvari NPC’s talking. Here’s their conversation, paraphrased:

“Yesterday I saw little creatures running all over the place, they startled me!”
“Little creatures? Oh, they’re just Asura, they’re strange but friendly.”
“No, these were little versions of normal-sized creatures!”

Apparently someone’s mini-Rytlock was running amok.

Odd things make me smile, like some of the NPC lines in the Norn starting area.
For example when you complete a challenge in a cave there the NPC sais: “Bear approves of you, I can feel her little tail wagging in my heart.” I have no idea why I find this so funny, but it makes me smile every single time.

In Bloodtide Coast, there’s a cave (Moriarity’s Hold) where the head pirate begins to sing. It was funny. Plus the heart in there was a great aside as you had to wake up drunk NPCs with a bucket of water and throw liquor bottles.

I know the exact character you mean…Bear Shaman Marga. Whoever does her voice is either Paula Poundstone or someone doing an excellent imitation of her. But I haven’t been able to find anything on it online.

NPC1 – Do you think it’s safe to open a shooting range so close to a tavern?
NPC2 – That’s ok, we haven’t had any incidents for the last couple of weeks.

See thats what I first thought.
But from my understand the market she mentions is where both NPCS are standing, and the mini creatures she talks about are actually ooze… things, from a dynamic event involving the nearby asura and his portal.

Nothing really sticks to mind right now, but the mini pets chat was the one that I noticed last night.

I do like the childrens chatter in the Asuran College (Rata Sum?). Very amusing at times.

The one little thing that makes me laugh every time i see it, is the Charr /surprised command. That makes my day all over again.

I believe you’re right, Zenyatoo…that event wasn’t running yesterday when I first found the area, but it was this morning.

Still funny and cute, though.

I was levelling in Metrica Province with my little Asura Warrior. I entered a cave full of Skrit that were +1 and +2 levels above me. Got out of my depth and pulled a few more than I could handle so decided a swift retreat was the best course of action. As I exited the cave with a horde of Skrit hot on my tail, an Asura NPC standing outside the mouth of the cave exclaimed “Haha, you ran from Skrit!”. Oh the shame! The game is full of wonderful little touches like this.

And you just keep finding more. My favorite place to “rest” my charr warrior is Smokestead because you can repair, sell stuff, and upgrade to new equipment. The merchants have “assistants” who keep hollering “I’m working as fast as I can!” and “We’re all out of the big ones”. Then there’s a charr roasting a boar on a spit nearby, arguing with others over whether it’s “done” or not: “Shut up! I’ll tell ya when it’s done!”

Then, last night, a brawl broke out among soldiers from the three legions and my girl had to go bust some heads to calm everyone down. That was a DE I hadn’t noticed before.

Love it!

I overheard a Charr say: “Sigh, cubs these days”.

That made me smile.
