Living Story & Expansion...

Was that the LS will be used to set up future expansions in the same way S1 and S2 was used to set this one up.

Well, another scenario is that, while the LS leads up to exapnsion-like content releases, those releases also provide the base of the next LS. My guess is that will be the case for HoT.
LS will most likely continue after HoT
This is why I love Arenanet.

That’s not a bad shout hadn’t thought of that really.

It’ll be interesting to see how they handle it because if the LW remains free to people that log in for the two weeks it’s out will ArenaNet put story in the expansion maps(which require a separate purchase)?
The next part of the story takes place in the expansion so people will at least be missing the story there if they opt out of buying the x-pac. How much of the continuation of that story will be in the new maps remains to be seen.
With us getting very detailed yet a few number of maps in the x-pac, I am also curious as to how many events will be added in the existing world to freshen those up again.
I think we can safely say that a continual 2-week release schedule is not really part of the game anymore. My guess is, when they added in the journal and started work on the expansion, it because too hard to keep that up without sacrificing quality.
At the same time, I think (fervently hope) HOT is probably designed to facilitate regular updates and even growth once its in place. The regular infusion of content is one of the things that truly sets this game apart. Even if its a little less aggressive than every 2 weeks (even if it goes to once a month with fewer dead air periods), I think its important to the game.

Actually, that would be a terrible conclusion to reach about the 2 week schedule. There is nothing to support that claim.
Also if you were playing attention Arenanet compared the 2 week schedule similar to seasons of your favorite tv show, which can be inferred that just like how tv shows go on summer and midseason break Guild wars 2 season will also operate in such manner. The point being like others have said LW might be the vehicle that connects expansions.
This is an mmo forum, if someone isn’t whining chances are the game is dead.
