Living Story Updates
I love them.
They did start off a little slow but I think that was A-Net testing the waters and getting their ducks in a row, so to speak.
I thoroughly enjoy having new stuff, however small, to do every few weeks. Name another MMO that does this.
I feel rushed to do stuff. There may be a breaking point when I decide I cannot keep up and I stop playing altogether.

I feel like that too. I know it is not mandatory, but I have so many things to do outside living story that updates are too fast for me, and leave them half finished and with the feeling that I have things not done and they will never come back.
Outside of that, the feeling that the world is advancing and things happens is great.
I’ve always been a supporter of the living story, at least what the end goal of it was. In some instances I’ve felt it was too monotonous, or didn’t have enough depth, or was a bit slow. However, I’ve patiently watched and waiting. Taking part and offering my feedback as we went along. (And yelled at loudly for my opinions)
This LS, is fun. I finally was able to get on last night, and I completed a large chunk of the achievements without really ‘trying.’ Sure, I swapped reps to work on those, but I wasnt actively tracking them. It was more of an ‘oh crap, thats done….when’d i finish it?’ and swap to the next. But I was just enjoying all the bouncing around, and all the people. At one point I had so much stuff flashing around on my screen from a boss battle that my game was just like ‘nope, not taking anymore’ and just froze. I laughed until it hurt, I should have taken a screenshot….everything was so….colorful. Normally that would kitten me off, but I was just having too much fun to care last night.
I agree! They are really hitting it out of the ballpark with Living Story.
Big thumbs up!
I like the Living Stories, the earlier ones (Flame and Frost, Lost Shores) were a bit rough but I loved the potential to it. Now it seems that the quality will start catching up to the potential.
After all they’ve said that once they get a solid number of these celebrations under their belt we will be looking at meatier updates in the future. I can’t wait!
My only problem (and it is a big one) is that, every 2 weeks (each release) a large portion of the world population gets siphoned off into a tiny instance area, leaving the real ‘world’ of Gw2 feeling empty. Of course you can make the very good argument that the people wouldn’t be in the world to begin with if not for the continuous LS updates. Still, I wish more would be done to make the ‘world’ alive and busy, rather than just making a new spot everyone rushes to while 99% of the world becomes/continues to be rather empty.
p.s. some of the stories have been kind of lame too
