Guild Wars 2

Hello!

Im really new to guild wars, today was the first day i played, and i read the wiki a lot to know the game a bit better. I just didnt get one thing about the seasons. I know that season 1 cant be unlocked anymore, but i see that season2 can be unlocked by gems (1400total). I just dont know what are they good for? Do i get a text, or i unlock some missions, and how many what are the rewards etc? So i have no clue how does stories work in the living season, i just want to know if its worth my gems, i dont want to spend them carelessly. Any info is welcome. (I dont really have anything to buy with gems atm, maybe chara slots and skins later, but i can exchange gold till then, once i get lv80 getting 300golds for 2k gems cant be that hard:D)

1. It is account bound
2. you get a number of lvl 80 instanced missions in dry top, silver wastes, and a few other zones.
3. you don’t need ls 2 to explore/do events in dry top and silverwastes
4. If you have a friend with LS2 unlocked, they can take you through the missions for free, but you won’t get a reward/credit for completion.
5. rewards are a number of somewhat challenging achievements, 2ish about skins, the ability to make mawdrey(in parts)
6. buying the unlock is account bound, and will extra chapters(with reach chapter being multiple missions) to your personal story tab. I would just spend cash probably.
7. laurel merchants have a LS1 REWARD tab. Sonder the seller in LA sells festival stuff. Most anything else is on tp of you want(although not necessarily cheap)

Honestly, if you like the personal story and are level 80, it is probably worth it. Expansion also picks up right after season 2 ends if you really want full story + rewards to go with it.

You’ll get instanced missions just like the personal story that your characters all have access to when created.

The main reason for unlocking LS is that you can get access to unique materials used for crafting items like Mawdrey and the set of bioluminescent armor. The story and missions themselves are pretty good too. I’d do it, if I were you.

Thanks, i would have 2 more questions:
1, if i buy them, is it for the whole account? Like will all of my other charas have it, or i have to buy it again?
2,so if i didnt play the game when season1 was on, then i missed a chance to unlock an item forever? Or those items been unlocked for everyone if there was any?

You can use the Wiki to find out what rewards unlocking LS Season 2 will provide.

Some items from LS Season 1 are available through the Laurel Merchant, and perhaps other merchants – I don’t remember.

I should only play it when im lv 80 right? Atm im lv 6 so i guess i cant do the missions
