I’m back after 7 months away and a little lost and wondering if anyone can answer a few niggling questions I have…

1, Where is the current location of the Living World event?

2, When I left everyone was obsessed with getting Ascended… so much so that it detracted from the actual gameplay Even normal dungeon groups were asking for only Ascended zerk gear players is it still the same?

3, I was a big player of WvW (Gandara) and at primetime the queues were terrible, but the last few nights I have logged on there was no queue at all … Are they all doing the Living world or has the populace decreased ?

1. Living Story has changed a bit. It’s no longer temporary open world content. The main story is instanced, and you can start that in your story journal. It will take you into Dry Top. This is the new zone for the LS. The events here are permanent, and more of a background for the story content itself, and in no way mandatory. It’s simply a very nice, new zone. They also add a new section almost every patch.

2. I never remember people asking for Ascended only. Ascended is only necessary for higher level fractals. Running full exotic in dungeons is still completely accepable. Any PUG dungeon group asking for ascended are dumb. But of course, ascended is a nice goal and you might as well get it when you can.

3. I know nothing about WvW, sorry!

I can honestly say the only time anyone has ever asked for Ascended gear has been in high level fractals. I’ve run hundreds of dungeons since release and not once has anyone had a gear requirement (I’m not including FoTM as a dungeon). Maybe if you were seeking out speedruns of dungeons I could see them wanting you to only be in zerk gear, but far more players prefer to play casually than speedrun.

I highly recommend creating your own LFG in the future. List it as a casual run and you will see your group will fill up within 30-60secs. The zerk only speedrun groups take far longer to fill and thus are usually what you see when you look at the LFG menu. Start your own, trust me.
