Please, can you add an option to lock “Show Enemy Names”?

It’s so annoying to keep holding down CTRL just to see all the names, especially in SW.

I even bound it to the NumLock key and made a macro to keep holding down NumLock, but that just ended up in GW2 totally freezing at some point.

I don’t see any reason why there shouldn’t be an option to just permanently show every name of every interactable item or npc without needing to hold down a button.

It’s already there in options – in fact, I think you may have at some point inadvertently disabled it, as I’m sure it’s ticked as default.

This doesn’t show things like ores, Bandit Chests or any other interactable units.

Under misc keybindings there is the option “Show Enemy Names” which is default bound to LeftCtrl.

When holding this key you also see ores and stuff.

You didn’t actually specify in your post about ores and bandit chests. You only mentioned enemy names. Are the Rich Platinum Veins my enemy now? :O

A point about buried bandit chests – I think their names should stay hidden – because they are like you know, hidden since they’re buried chests.

And when it comes to ores and nodes – look at your mini-map – there’s an icon for every node, whether it’s wood, metal or plant.

Check your keybindings. Scroll down to “misc” and the default key of “Show Enemy Names” is LeftCtrl.

Holding down the key bound to “Show Enemy Names” will show the names of all the enemies, ores and any interactable entities.

Either they should add a new option to permanently show those or add it to the existing option.

Hidden bandit chests aren’t shown, but once you dig them up they are. You can already hold down LeftCtrl to see them once they are dug up, but why do I have to permanently hold a freaking key instead of just enabling it to always show?

Also I prefer to see where the ore is instead of guessing by minimap.

There is no reason why they shouldn’t add an option for it.
If GW2 wouldn’t just go full lag with using a macro to hold the button I wouldn’t even have a problem and just use the macro to hold the button.

I don’t understand why you are telling me this part – I already know this and my reply was about you not mentioning ores and bandit chests in your original post.

Also, I don’t think you’ve looked at the picture I attached in my first reply – the option for enemy names to be above their heads permanently is already there! Just like NPC and friendly player names. I prefer to have mine personally unticked so I can see more of the world. I’ll attach the picture again in case you missed it.

Ores and Bandit chests are not enemies. I suspect why you have to hold down the ‘freaking’ key is because farming shouldn’t be completely easy. I take it you would prefer it if you had a permanent key also, and for the chests to will their way into your inventory?

If something is worth having, it’s worth working for.

Having to permanently press the key to make it harder? What a joke…

It makes it annoying and not harder.

I rebound it to Alt instead of Cntrl, holding Alt with my thumb causes significantly less cramping after hours of play then Cntrl with my pinkie did.
