I noticed that we have a bunch of locked dyes today. It may have been there for awhile, but I just noticed it. The dyes I have unlocked are free. Locked dyes are a trans shard. Without knowing what was going on, I spent charges on locked dyes for my lich outfit. It did not change a thing, and I went from 37 charges to 32 charges.

I am going to contact customer service about it. It is a long shot. Just posting here to warn other players about my experience. I don’t want you to repeat my mistake.

It would have to be a bug just on your account then as dyes have never been charge for use and the locked dyes are the ones that are not usable on your account as you have not yet acquired them.

Just to check, I tried to apply locked dyes. Was not able to use and even before trying it said zero Transmutation charges.

Yeah, dyes don’t have anything to do with T. charges.

Locked dyes don’t cost a transmutation charge because you can’t even use them.

Then it’s a bug on my account. Ty. I hope support gives me a refund since I did nothing but mess with the dyes. Maybe if I re log could it fix it?

Edit: Relogged. Says it’s 32 still. crappy.

Could you maybe post a screenshot of your hero panel where it says you need to use transmutation charges to dye? It’s possible you could just be looking at something wrong.

Well it fixed itself. no more proof after reloging. I Relogged to check if I had all 37 charges back. I had 37. Now I have 32. I sware on my mother’s grave. On my honor as a hero in guild wars 2 I messed with nothing else. I know how to use what they put in except that. I though they gave us all the dyes for free at one point. It intrigued me. I fiddled with it. I lost charges. I can still send a photo if you wish. It says zero now.

I was just trying to raise awareness for other players and honestly did not expect to get a response to this, or my charges bk. it is not a big deal. I lost 5 charges. I just payed for something in game, but did not get it.

Agh! And windows took a photo of my desktop instead of the game! Stupid computer!

Why don’t you double check what armor is now under your Lich outfit.

Nothing changed. Same old armor. Same black wings on my back. I seriously through it was a 1 time payment to use the dye. Or perhaps unlock it. My old armor looks kinda weird with the black wings on the back. I am using a combo of the winged mantle, seer mask, and the rest is the zodiac armor for elementalist. Now I go the black feather wings on my back as opposed to the old wind catcher back I was using.

It doesn’t matter. I got ripped. Big deal. It happens to all of us at one point in our lives. Today was just not my day to get on gw2. I hope you guys had a chuckle about my computer not taking the screenie. Lol.

Well, if it’s the same armor then idk. Make a ticket to support and discuss it with them if it used up T charges then they will be able to see it and send them to you.

Swearing on that on gaming forum in topic about dying fictional characters armor. Very good job.

Anyway, you probably came to your warderobe to change your chars armor but forget about it once you saw a locked dye section and messed around with it, pressed apply to see if you can dye it in locked colours and…. voila.

Nope. I went into dyes because I wanted to change the colors on my lich, that is when I made my discovery. I started fiddling with the dyes Saw a I had 37 charges, and hit apply. Since I knew dyes were free, and it kept my lich outfit the colors I chose, I did not expect it to takes charges.
After closing the hero panel, I saw there was no change, checked my account wallet, and saw 32 charges.
I did not mess with anything else. I have said that 3 times now.

Thanks for the warning. I hope you get your charges back!

file a ticket, they will check history logs maybe you get answer then

Well I got an answer. I was told I can do them a favor next time by submitting an in game bug report, or posting on the bug report forums with a screenshot. The request I made to have my charges was ignored, and not even mentioned in the email. I shall email them back and inquire about it since I just checked my account and nothing was as compensation.

As I said it was a long shot, but I find the fact that they ignored my request entirly to be quite insulting. I was expecting a denial, or we need time to review your request. Not it being ignored all together.
