SimpleTraits™ is here. No more mixing two or three adepts in one tree, or two master traits.

Instead, we’re forced to take a grandmaster trait for each line.

Even when those traits are horrible, or don’t work at all with the rest of the build. Why is this, Anet? What could you possibly gain by doing this? Was it just easier to balance this way? Personally I think you should rethink this change.

Pros and cons of the new system versus the old one:

Pros:
- easier to balance
- easier for new players to understand
- better suited to expand upon with anets plan for mastery lines

Cons:
- seeming loss of customization
- loss of multiple lower tier traits (which if traits are supposed to become more valuable was more a bug or lack of balance)

Let’s face it, under the old system you had more customization options, which ultimately ended in exactly 1 thing: people running almost all the same traits for different builds. Some traits were horribly underperforming and got almost never picked.

I very much doubt they will go back to that.
