Yep im feeling that way.. Going AFK alot more now then before and im not that into getting new stuff, now when the rollercoaster has started.

The people that wants a gear treadmill will move on when they get bored of this content aswell. And the more dedicated players will suffer because of the new gear.

But it’s sooo much more to grind! I don’t want to have to keep playing the game and it’s new content! I just want to sit there with my exotic gear looking pretty. I worked hard for it and I refuse to work any more.

I was leveling my alts to outfit them with exotics, now that I had finally gotten done 100% outfitting my Warrior with exotic armor and exotic weapons (the weapon part takes a lot longer for a Warrior). Needless to say, knowing they were attaching more levels to this killed my motivation entirely, as I already was sick of leveling them all up. Especially knowing they may add more tiers later to keep the WoW idiots invested (“we won’t be adding a new tier every three months” [just every nine months!]) means I no longer want to play. Number chasing for your own equipment has never been part of this franchise. Adding it, to me, means the franchise is now completely dead. The soulbinding nonsense and the whole dye fiasco and all the other tiny little things that were minor insults to the first game have piled up to a breaking point for me. It’s no longer tolerable. ANet pushed too far.

I also have little motivation to play, but I’ve logged anyways.
I’ve been farming Ores and materials in Orr thinking “Should I attempt a Legendary?”

I was considering getting the Triforce Amulet for the best set I could think of, but I now I’m thinking “And in 3 months, this 40~50g amulet will be found in some dungeon for a couple of hours of playing… I don’t think I can get 40~50g in a couple of hours”

I don’t know about others, but I personally hated WoW every new expansion where I’d put my full Raid Epics (I was sorta hardcore) in my bank for sentimental value after 5~10 levels.

If two ring slots and a backpack makes you not want to log in I’m pretty sure you have other issues you need to address. That said even with full ascended sets exotics will be far from useless seeing as the power increase is so minute it won’t even be noticed, the only major increase will be Agony resistance which only matters at the absolute hardest levels of the dungeon.

I haven’t logged on ever since they made that Ascend Gear announcement. Realizing that all the hard work I’ve put into getting full exotics will soon be for nothing, I’ve lost motivation to continue playing. I’ll see how the patch turns out, though.

I just finished my exotic gear yesterday. And I still want to play more (but can’t because of school).

This new gear doesn’t really bother me. I actually can’t wait for the new dungeon, it looks super awesome. Actually, I only went for exotics because it was a long term goal that I could work towards. With dailies and monthlies giving karma though, it became short term haha. I was never really asked for that gear in any dungeon or content unless I went by myself somewhere dangerous – like Orr.

To me, the new gear just looks like another goal I can go for after I finish my other goals.

Won’t be anymore either, the creator quit about 8 months ago. I think he sold the rights to some other company to port it to console though. I just like building new stuff.. big stuff…
