Guild Wars 2

Problem: Because of the influx of wvw and pve players alike, the number of players in those game modes outweigh the sole pvp players. This causes issues with the Looking For Group/Team thread, because PvPers looking for a 5 man team have no chance of having their thread being seen with all the wvw/pve guild postings.

Solution: Please revert this thread back to how it was before, when it was split into 3 different game modes. Before the change, it was very easy to find other pvpers looking to do casual 5 mans or compete in tournaments.

Absolutely nobody uses that man. Never seen anyone try to use that, and I’ve got over 4k games played.

There is also not enough room to describe what you are looking for and where you can be contacted to form a tournament team.

Perhaps, you should post in the PvP or Looking-For sub-forums, rather than the General (usually) PvE area.

Countless people have tried posting this in the PvP section, but I recall Guild Wars 2 Discussion to be a generalized forum so that’s why I put it here. And did you read my post? Anything that gets posted in the Looking-For sub forum gets flooded out by wvw/pve guild post/bumps.

You do realize that the only possible solution for people not using something is to start using it, right?

I think the better idea would be for everyone to learn how to actually use the lfg. Dungeon group posts should go in the dungeon sections (not living world), wvw group posts should go in the wvw section (not living world), and spvp group posts should go in the spvp sections (not living world).

Your only complaints about the current spvp lfg are:

You can fit the gist of what you’re looking for in the group description. And as for a way for people to contact you about tournament teams, they can whisper you or send you in-game mail. It’s not like the in-game lfg had better options before (unless I’m seriously mis-remembering the history of the in-game lfg tool).

So, again, I say that the Living World lfg spam fest would be largely lessened if people would stop using that section for dungeon groups, wvw groups, and spvp groups.

Maybe the feature needs to be removed from the LFG and added to the PvP panel instead. Most people don’t even know it’s in the LFG, or don’t think about it.

• a small group of players who want to roll a premade?

Yes I am talking about the sub-forum that merged PvE PvP and wvw a long time ago.

And to the people saying maybe we should start using the lfg tool, the problem is much bigger than that!! If nobody uses the tool but you constantly have people in map chat advertising they want a group or want a tournament team, wouldn’t you say their is a problem? Everyone used to use the forums to find a team in PVP. Now if you create a thread to find a team in the PvP forum it gets moves to the looking for sub forum where it gets lost forever.

Whether it be the design of the lfg tool, as in where the PvP section was placed or some other reason, their has got to be a reason why nobody uses it for PvP. And we NEED to find a solution to this as is will make guild wars 2 a BETTER game and when our PvP systems are attractive the game will look better to new comers when the expansion hits, due to the fact that there are annual tournaments of $50,000 (2 this year) and ESL cups every week, this game has a lot of potential for PvP esports and we need to keep making it better to help grow our game people!!

OK, problem solving… are people generally looking for a group for a single match, a single play session or something more like term? If longer than a single match, is the section of the LFG tool that allows for description too small? It seems to me that the LFG tool is designed around the idea of, “Find someone who wants to do what you want to do right now,” but does not support longer term in-game collaboration.
