Guild Wars 2

I mainly open world pve and WvWvW and am hoping the ascended gear will finally be available to me without being forced to do fractals ( which are ok but not my playstyle)

I agree.
I don’t want to be forced into Fractal to ‘keep up’ – they’re not that interesting – so I’ve basically not played this game since Fractal came out but been blasting people in PS2 and levelling an alt in SWTOR instead.

Once ANet makes good on their promise that all avenues can provide the same rewards, then I suspect I’ll be back again.

It is nice that they are making them more available, but just remember that it is only rings and amulets. And they don’t have infusion slots. Infused Ascended items can only be obtained through Fractals. Which should be okay since you are only wanting the stats anyways (of course you’ll miss out on the extra stats from infusions though).

But the Ascended back slot is still Fractals only. So you’re going to have to do Fractals to get that still.

I agree, I’m glad they are offering it in WvW as well.

I really don’t want to see ridiculous “tiers” of gear however. Its somewhat nice to be on the same footing when PvPing in WvW. Its amazing how much better of a PvPer i have become, when someones not 3 armour and 4 weapon levels above me…

I was such a “NOOB!1!1!” back then, and my “SuxXor” level was pretty high as well, or so i was told.. Now, not so much

I thought i had lost my touch since the UO days, maybe age was creeping up on me… naaa. It was their gear.

I dont need a reason to screw ascend gear it is already crap and killed this game.
But von snuffles that is a reason to log in alone.
