So I have a question for ANet:

Why did my level 80 Elementalist/Tempest get a level 50 Masterwork (Green) Sentinel’s Scout Hammer that was Soulbound on acquisition?

For everyone else:

Am I uniquely blessed or has anyone else gotten absurd soulbound drops that they can’t use or salvage recently?

It is essentially anti-loot. Can’t/won’t use it. Can’t salvage it. Can’t vendor/sell it. Can’t trading post it. Can mystic forge it I guess but that would require 3 more green items – preferably equally useless ones so its not effectively a waste of three items that I could salvage/sale/trading post.

Sentinel’s Scout Hammer is a heart vendor item. You likely received it when opening a package from Mawdrey II or another item which converts materials. They tend to drop heart vendor items (which are always soul bound and never salvageable).

Not this time unless it was in a special reward package. Don’t have Mawdrey (I have better uses for bloodstone dust). I have the two items that return bundles with heart items (the karaka and the gift of generosity). I do get items from them that are soul bound. I got this item on a second-third tier alt that I rarely use that had neither of those items – got it as a reward for . . . something . . . don’t remember what though.
