I have played this game for 9 years and the loot drops have been good. Lately loot drops have been horrible. I have bought 30 black lion chest and have got nothing of value. My interest in this game is dwindling along with my family.

Bring back the fun of getting something of value or interest.

Not possible to have played it for 9 years, as the 4th anniversary is coming up this August. Also, to be honest, the BLC’s have always been a shot in the dark as to whether you get anything good or not.

RNG is RNG , being lucky in the past doesn’t mean you’ll be lucky forever.

You can consult the Wiki for a list of possible items one might receive from a Black Lion Chest, as well as the drop rates.

No real surprise to get little of value from opening 30 chests; it’s the possibility, however small, of getting something of great value that spurs some into obtaining the keys.

What was valuable to you in 2012 might not be valuable today. Originally, I loved getting boosters, since getting > 100% MF was hard to manage without them. Today, I have more boosters than I can use and don’t much need them.

Similarly, when I first started fractals, I was overjoyed to get any ascended ring. Now, I am unimpressed with even infused rings because they have no value to me. So even though the loot is better now, it sometimes feels anemic.

Regardless, if I played this game for the loot, I would have stopped in Aug 2012. I get plenty of stuff that I don’t want that I can sell on the TP and I can buy all the necessities and quite a few luxuries.

Gonna call bullkitten on the time you’ve been playing the game. I’m also pretty sure you dont know exactly what you want either. First of all, BL chests are RNG boxes. You’re going to get stuff no matter what, you just dont have a choice. Or are you talking about random loot when killing kitten? Rares and exotics ARE valuable. Do you mean gold worth? That’s a glass house. If things become more common, they arent going to stay “valuable” for long. So…. I’m just gonna say what other people are probably going to think- you should probably find another game.

LOL at all the people saying bs on the op playing for 12 years, I’m pretty sure he meant guild wars-guild wars 2 which would be 12 years total since the first game was released.

OP says this game, if you’d actually pay attention to what people are posting.

Well, OP also says his family is dwindling, but I’m sure he meant his family’s interest. I’ll have to agree with meaning the Guild Wars franchise.

English is not everyone’s native language, and sometimes even native speakers write vague or grammatically incorrect phrases. I took it to mean the OP played the series of various GW games as well.

Regardless of the ops mistake in how long they have been playing many of you are oddly hostile towards them can’t day your being any better to be honest. Anyways maybe he meant gw1 and since beta of gw2.

Ya because the loot in gw2 is similar to gw1. Clearly you haven’t played gw1.

The gist of the message that I got was “I liked loot drops better in GW than what I’ve been getting lately in GW2.” They are different games, so not sure why it’s relevant, but it is what it is.

I had noticed getting more keys dropped for map completion, more junk loot in the BL chests. Hard to know if I am an anomaly, but I totally understand the disappointment of opening a bunch of BL chests and getting nothing exciting. You know, something like a BL weapon skin, a miniature, something besides merch expresses, bank access, or a bl salvage kit (no matter how useful those are). I would feel ripped off if I had bought those keys.

If they did change the formula for what drops from those chests it is a big mistake. Those chests are a money maker for them and many people will quit buying those keys if they only get junk. It doesn’t have to be valuable necessarily, just fun. Something like an unidentified dye, much better than boosters.
