Loot is underwhelming
GW2 wasn’t really intended as a “grind for loot” game. So yeah your not the only one and yeah its intentional.
I agree, loot is underwhelming… Stats are kinda boring… There is no flavor or randomness to the loot. I know this isn’t Diablo, but cmon.
You literally choose between one or two sets of gear end game.
Add some flavor stats to gear. Like chance on hit or attack speed or something.
Gear can be totally customized with a variety of runes that make it do all sorts of different things or sigils on weapons. You’re going to have to put together a magic find set if you want to get yellows and good loot. I’ve come to this realization of late and am building a second set of gear to wear when farming events. As for the item skins there are a number of them and most are purely cosmetic but your customization is there in the form of using multiple runes from a set to get unique effects.
I’m not talking about “grind for loot.” I’d be happy getting a generic rare every once in awhile from a boss chest/dungeon chest, but I literally never get anything substantial, it’s always blues. The same goes for the random champion mobs, why even kill them?
So what’s the point of giving “loot chest” if the loot you get is not a loot.
Yep, the loot in the game suuuucks. There’s no reason to “work” for anything. With the difficulty level of the dungeons they way they are, they NEED to up the loot drops by a million!
So if we don’t go kill things to get the good gear what do you do? I’m kind of at a point where I’m not sure how to get the exotic 80 stuff? Grind crafting for it? Grind out dungeon tokens? Grind out DE’s in nightmare Orr lol? It’s always a grind if you look at it that way lol your going to have to do something repetitively I’m sure but I don’t mind some grinding just like to know where to go lol.
Crafting is a good start for your gear needs.
I’m not looking for gear for myself specifically. I already have good gear through crafting. What I’m looking for is SOME type of decent loot from boss/dungeon chests that I can sell or salvage, as of now I feel like I’m not even being rewarded for doing these events save a few crap blues.
Well I’m almost able to make exotic jewelry and Ty wolf was suspecting that. Nice change that crafting can actually make the good stuff lol. Seems like a lot of the games I have played in past crafting was an afterthought.

Really? then why do I have to grind 1500 tokens just to look nice?
Why can’t I just complete explorable Arah for the Orrian set?
Please, excuses. this game is more of a grind than grind end games, with less reward.
if People think this is good game design I’m losing faith.

Hush, people are spamming “CoF explo speed run” cause it’s so fun, they’re not grinding anything, you’ve seen nothing fool!
The drop tables are really mediocre and it’s almost not even worth speccing into magic find. Even with 140% MF I still get maybe two rares doing 8 hours worth of Dynamic events in Orr. I’ve done the Shatterer, Tequatl, and the Temples in Orr multiple times and only ever gotten a single rare out of a chest. I have not gotten a single exotic yet. Either the overall drop tables need to improve or MF needs to have more of an impact. End game areas need to have much more substantial loot than this – if I don’t spend more than 2-3 hours in Orr at a time farming I end up spending more on waypoint costs than I make in cash.
