I don’t think I have ever looted a key before. Is this new? Or do I just have really bad luck and never got one lol.

Not new, just very rare.

Not new, just incredibly rare… and you’ve looted one, you’re already ahead of the curve, so you have actually good luck (I’ve also looted one, playing since release)..

I’ve looted like 3-4 of em (been playing since launch) so not new, just rare, as the person above me stated.

They are incredibly rare. I have got more precursor drops than BL key drops, which is quite absurd considering that if Anet wanted the BL keys to be a rarely acquired, they would have nerfed the lvl 10 story by now.

Ok ty I was thinking maybe they changed it and added it since I never got one before :P

Seems like the key drop rate is slightly more common than that of precursors…. I’ve been playing since launch and only gotten two keys.

cough point of view, I’ve gotten more key drops then precursors (=0)

I would venture to guess that the number of keys acquired by “lvl 10 runs” are insignificant.

Anyways, yes rare.

I got one last week or so, it’s been awhile since the last drop. Not new, just rare, as everyone else has stated.

I have gotten exactly as many keys as precursors, zero. This is since 2 day headstart.

I’ve had about 10 keys drop since launch, and those were all before the end of last year.

Apparently I’m being punished for that good luck in 2012 with horrible drops in 2013.

I think I’ve gotten 2 or 3 keys since launch..but I play a LOT.

Plenty of chests (Have over 250 of them) no keys, I guess they want you to buy them just to get the rubbish that’s inside.

You know what’s even rare than precursors and BL keys?

Giant Eyes as a drop. I’ve got 1 in +2600 hours.

I’ve gotten more giant eyes than precusors, but not more than keys. As far as I can tell, 3 key drops, 2 giant eye drops, 1 precusor drop (and that was loot from an event, not a creature).

I’ve had a few key drops (4 or so I think), playing since beta and launch.
Never seen a pre-cursor drop for me.

I’m sure more people have looted a precursor as opposed to a black lion key.

I’ve found two keys in the last two days. What’s more, the last one I used gave me a claim ticket. I was blown away.

You should have been here during launch. Black Lion Keys dropped like candy. They were all over the place and also when you opened a chest, 9/10 you would get another key back.

Miss those days. I think I’ve gotten 2 or 3 total since they patched that.

Lol I was here at head start.. maybe I got some then and just forgot :P

I guess candy was bad for me or something because I got none at all.

i’ve looted 3 since i’ve been playing the game at release.. just extremely rare

2 keys not including the ones you get from PS
0 precursors

Man I used to loot keys all the time back in the days of headstart. Since like Oct though I think I’ve gotten 2.
