I had a break from this game by 2 or 3 months (I usually do that big breakes from not only GW2), than I recently returned back to it and, erm, I have really nothing to do?…
Missed almost all events since Scarlet-something in living story, not sorry for it because I have never been fan of zerg-farming/grinding, done most of Dungeons, left only those where you can’t simply find anyone to do them with, going low level FoTM is boring and I don’t have equipment to do higher levels. All of my irl friends who have played this game stopped since Anet introduced Ascended gear. WvWvW doesn’t interest me too, because it’s pointless IMO and endless in fact… PVP in this game is quite awkward, I have better games for that, and only thing left is PvE, but its empty now for me?…
So when I logged in few days ago, I just stood there for, well… about 5 mins, having no idea what to do and just quit. =/

To be honest I’m not a big fan of MMOs, if not say the least, but I really think that GW2 is best possible game in this genre that could ever be done, I still like it in some way, and I remember how I have enjoyed it back then. I have 2 characters level 80 with 100% world completetion, but I won’t have a willpower to start another one because I definitely found class I enjoy most.

This thread may seem trivial to some players, but I ask maybe someone will point me out to how they enjoy this game, because sometimes solution can be found in most unexpected and simple ways, right?…

Looks like you’ve lost interest not losing interest.

I get my jollies by creating characters and then running around to hit stuff. The first you don’t want to do and the second, I’d imagine, would make you eyes glaze over after five minutes. You could always give it a go and see if it wakes things up.

Fire up the Hyperbowl ma, we’re going to town!

Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?

Difficult to answer since everyone is differently motivated. I can set off in a given direction and just do stuff. Anything really. Or play and alt, tick off dailys, maybe do some World Tours. I gel rather well with the ease of play the game offers in that respect. When my guild is active – that’s where the real fun starts. Maybe that is all you need?

However, every single MMO I play or have played I experience what you experience. The simple answer is not to force yourself to play it just “because”. That’s the road to hating it even more. If you like the game enough, you’ll find a reason to play it. If not…then its F2P so enjoy playing other stuff and play this only when you feel “the urge”. I suspect that urge will return when the next big story arc comes around and we get (hopefully) the whole of Maguuma starting to unlock.

Currently I feel the same with Lotro. I really, really want to play it, but I’m like “meh” when I log in. That feeling will go eventually and I’ll get back into it, but I’m not going to play until that point.

Well ever tried to complete the list: http://www.guildwars2hub.com/features/editorials/80-things-do-level-80 ?

I also take brakes from time to time, especially because of my work or other games I’d like to enjoy. But I never thought it was boring, because you can always find an activity that entertains you. I mean there is so much stuff to do, you don’t have to focus on all that meta stuff like WvW, PvP or dungeons. Just have a look at your archivements tab and look for stuff to do, or go around and help some newbes or random people.

The world is filled with action, adventure and fun, it is not always easy to find or see, but if you try to overcome your personal wall, you might see this game completely different.

Give it a try and have fun, that’s all you need to do.

Players who do that are just trying to prove something to themselves. Players should save their characters so they can come back when there’s more stuff to do.

I agree that the Living Story sucks for returning players (I missed most of it too), but if sPvP and WvW don’t hold your interest, then there’s not much left for you if you don’t want to grind.

If the LS continues as is, you’ll always be bored with the game :/

I think you’re missing the point of WvW. You shouldn’t need a reason to compete other than the sweet taste of victory. Server points, world exp, guild bragging rights, and server rankings are just noise. It has been and always will be about the battles.
