Is the lack of, at least, character restoration (I won’t even touch items or money) a deal breaker for anyone else?

This just seems like a terrible oversight. It hasn’t happened to me directly but I have friends who will not be playing any more due to character loss and I’m afraid I’ll have to be going with them.

I’m just curious to see if those would leave due to character loss are the minority or not.

I’m very disappointed. I had high hopes.

I heard that the information isn’t lost. But they don’t have the customer service or IT infrastructure right now to restore deleted characters. I might be wrong about this. But it might just mean that this service will be available in the future but they obviously can’t make any guarantees until they have it set up.

It doesn’t even have to be the result of hacking. My little brother lost his level 80 Guardian due to some sort of error and it can’t be restored either.

I have already left due to the multitude of other issues, but if this happened to me it would definitely turn me sour and I can’t see how anybody could blame someone for leaving after that.

…but of course you must be a bunch of exploiters, stop playing the game wrong and go play Wow…something….something.

It would be kind of nice if somehow your character could be saved
locally, as well as on their servers. So that it would have to muck up both
places in order for you to lose your character. But argh… This is scary stuff.
I REALLY hope some proper backup systems come into play real quick to prevent
and/or stop this kind of thing !
