I think there should be a way to lower our MF…err, “luck”, temporarily in order to help with certain achievements, such as the junk collector one, and the champion bags one (I’m trying to collect all five rarities of all five bags for when the collection is finally fixed, but it’s really difficult to get the more “common” versions, and for once that’s a bad thing…it’s driving me crazy). Some kind of five-minute tonic or something might work.

Problem is…. i have no low level char left and I am not willing to spend money to get a new slot.

What’s the efficient method for lvl 80 ?

Well, that I wasn’t considering…
But still. When I go to do events like Jungle wurm in Caledon, even on my 80, sometimes the husk champions (when I fight them without being in a team) still drop white-rarity bags, you could give a try there for the white ones…
Though I’m clueless as for how to get blue green and yellow quality :/

Kill low level champs without a train nearby. I’ve been able to get the lower rarity bags that way.

Just wondering…does MF even affect Champion Bag drops? Or the ‘junk’ that drops off mobs? I thought the junk was determined by the level of the mob, not from MF. Or are you saying you never get junk of any kind from mobs? I mean, you only need one for the collection.

I tried killing the champions in TA story (the only place where you can get the “thorny” champ bags, according to the wiki) with my level 50, as that’s the lowest level you’re even allowed to LFG for the dungeon, and couldn’t get any lower than a rare (yellow) bag, even if I only participated in the fight just enough to not worry that I wouldn’t get credit at all.

What’s the efficient method for lvl 80 ?

Deal lesser damage.
So lesser damage you deal and so lesser you participate in an even, so lower does become the quality of the bag reward.

Means, if you participate long enough to get gold reward, you will always get also the best quality (exoitic bag if you go in with a lvl 80)
if you get gold but participated only so much to get nearly gold, chances are that you get a lower quality bag (rare)
If you get only silver or bronze, chances are again better to get lower quality stuff.

Clearly viewable when doing Rhendak.. if I get gold reward, bags are always exotics..
But if i come in late and get only bronze or silver, then the bag rewards are of lower quality (blue, green)

The only real hard quality to get for those items is white.
But I wish anet would finalyl fix all of those bugged collection achievements..

Seriously, such a content, that gets added with a feature Pack, stays bugged for like 2 months soon and other things, that get bugged with the latest living story patch get fixed on the same day or within a few days later >.>

I thought mf meant getting more junk, not less. More of everything, including trophies.
