Gradually, this stuff is starting to annoy me with how noticeable it is.
Different armour and weapon skins sharing the same base model, emote animations used instead of bespoke custom animations for certain actions in the world and uninspired voice acting and recycling thereof.

When you guys were making the game, I distinctly remember an interview with one of the head honchos where he said something along the lines of “We don’t just want to make the best game in the genre; we want to make the best game ever”.

Unfortunately, these things contribute to an ever increasing air of production laziness.

You can’t be considered the best when other games do similar things to a higher degree of competence.

I know that there are probably programming constraints to consider, but a lot of these things are quite obviously the way they are because of budgetary constraints or simple slipshod design. Your concept artists may be the best in the industry, but your implementation when scrutinised lacks dedication.

I love this game, but as the old saying goes “familiarity breeds contempt”, and I’m gradually finding more and more things to be contemptuous about.

Pour some of the money you’re getting from the Gemstore back into polishing the game.

Or else! Right?

Oh please. If you’re going to complain about something, especially with that much text, complain about something substantial.

You should be willing to let small things go considering the scope and deadline that Anet delivered on. If anything it’s a testament to how good the game is that you stuck around long enough to notice the holes in such idiosyncratic areas.

The game is not perfect, no it’s definitely not perfect. But that’s just whining.

It’s criticism, not whining.
