Ugh. How about I come back when you have some grasp on the concept of “complete sentences”, capital letters, and punctuation?

It’s a normal thing, mmos are no longer mainly played by teenagers but by people with jobs and families. I don’t know how old you are but I can tell you from my own experience that a few years back I could devote a lot of time and thought to a game, but now that I’m slowly starting to plan out my career there’s simply no incentive for that. I don’t feel like farming things daily/weekly just so I can have fun sometime in the future.

Is the purpose of this thread netting cash through advertisements? If you want to start a discussion, do it properly please. I have reported this thread, I am not here to see stupid ads.

Also, MMORPGs turning casual? Breaking news? Where have you been in the last 10 years?

Ok could u point us what WoW offered to the genre ? …
Flying in MMOs? = Horizons.
Mounts ? = previous games
Arenas ? = GW1
LvL throught bgs ? = Warhammer
The new syste to live up world pvp ? = GW2 overflow
Transmutation gear ? = Other older games
The new bg with the 4 relics ? = Rift
The new bg in the mine ? = TF2 curve_rc3

Dude is mad he can’t WTFPWN in PvP with his epic LOOTZ gained from a thousand hours of grinding. Typical hard core gear grinder mentality. More tears please, I’m thirsty.

Terrible, terrible blog. o.-

in guild wars 2 you cant be anywhere near challenging when you make a pvp video of you in a battle ground people well just say(oh well this class is OP) not even for a second saying oh well this guy is skilled.
PVP=SKILL

This can be said for pretty much EVERY GAME ON THE MARKET.

No game have I seen, as an MMO, where classes are ’equal’. I can’t even sift through any more of this. The blog is bad,a nd OP should feel bad for writing it.

Orphyn X – 8X Thief – Tarnished Coast
Lady Raevyn – 11 Necromancer – TC
Fanboy- The New Godwin’s Law.

This does not added anything to the discussion of GW2. Rather it’s purpose is to incite an argument of opinions. I disagree with your opinion 10 fold.

Umm… Was that blog post supposed to present some kind of argument? Look I don’t get upset at every grammatical mistake but there’s a limit to what I can take.

Sorry but that thing just isn’t readable and I can’t take anything written like that seriously, even if it gave me the answers of the universe.

MMOs have been turning casual for years. Even original WoW was considered casual compared to previous grindy MMOs. Also, WoW came out in 2004. This guy was clueless from the first sentence.

Killthehealersffs is spot on. WoW is notorious for copying ideas from other games. That’s why I laugh when people call games a WoW clone. WoW itself is just a combination of other games.

Was expecting a well experienced opinion when it was an external link, instead it simply links to a horribly written blog that was so messy looking that I don’t care if it’s content was great, I stopped reading when you started a paragraph with a lower case “Am”
clearly English isn’t your first language, so why make a blog in it?

Did you think that making it a blog would add to the weight of the arguments?
That isn’t how it works Malediktus,

tuning down the long term boring grind and offering up repeatable content that doesn’t get as stale and mouldy as 10 week old bread is FINE, It’s only when you get to EXTREME’S such as WoW’s current state that you look at the game and wonder why you’re paying them monthly, only for them to craft a path to the endgame that makes every wonderful piece of content and gear that came before it obsolete.

As I’ve reiterated time and time again, they claimed that they had to justify the development costs of the raiding level content, and instead of working on getting more people into the content that they had already released and was “stale” to higher skilled players but “totally still in the wrapper new” they released Random Raid Finder, and what was left of the content with accountability for players.

See the real issue with WoW wasn’t that the game was too easy in the end, that was just ONE large aspect as to why many left, the core of the issues was that you could be a giant pain in the rear to EVERYONE you came across in the random finder systems and thus that guy who rolls on everything and is more fit for a padded cell where he can’t hurt anyone, is let loose on a group of random people who just wanna do the content they paid for in peace and maybe gear up and progress.

Then we get those that are not “bad” people per say, but under the false monicker of “casual” they REFUSE point blank to just play the game at a level that would considered COMPETENT, nothing to do with their aversion to tanking or healing and their love of standing skill dps boring mechanics, this is just these guy who don’t get enjoyment from doing something that is challenging at all and just want content to consume like a greedy little lazy pig, and woe be to anybody they get grouped with, because the BARE minimum dps is what you’ll get and should you tell them to buck up or leave? to just pay attention, learn and play the game?

You’re told you’re a jerk, elitist or much worse.

MMO’S can be legitimately casual all they want, it’s the players ABUSING the games, claiming to be the voice of the “casual” market, the only difference in a legitimately “casual” game is less need to be organised and less grind time for a goal that’s not that important, and no videogame IS that important.
Simply put, stop excusing lazy nuisances who want to be carried through content and refuse to work with others as “casual” because

“You keep using that word, I don’t think it means what you think it means”

Irony…. xD
