I know why anet does Not want to add mounts but still ill make a post about it .
Do you think they should add mount? And why do you think that.
Imo they should remove a few waypoint (bcuz a lot of WP are useless)No mounts in dungeon,no mounts in towns, no flying mounts , no mounts in wvw and PvP , they dont need to be super quick (swiftness is 33% so maybe mounts could a bit quicker lets say 40% -45%) nothing fancy dont need to add super epic fire tigers just basic stuff horse , Moa things like that anyways tell me what you think

another one of these, maybe you should learn not to post the 5000000000 topic about mounts. they aint going to add them.

Any new threads about adding mounts, should be flagged as spam and/or trolling, and merged into a thead of necroed topics that have been thoughly discussed at length several times over.

Besides, GW2 already has something that boosts your movement speed more than swiftness, and it’s in Edge of the Mists

Just reduce the waypoint costs. No need for mounts.

As far as I know, ArenaNet has never said they don’t want to add mounts. They have said that they are not planning on mounts at this time. If someone can provide an official link with ArenaNet saying they don’t want mounts in their game, I’d be glad to read it. I haven’t found anyone able to produce one yet.

Mounts are deeply intrinsic to human history, and fantasy literature. There are even references to them in both GW and GW2. Saying “we’re making a fantasy game without mounts” is like saying “we’re making a fantasy game without any swords”. Sure, you can do that, but people will never give up asking, “why every other type of weapon, but no swords?”

IMO id like mounts and if not that, I think they should remove about 30% or so of the waypoints. Or give you a daily limit on waypoint use, or dramatically increase the price for waypoint use the more you use them. Make going from point A to point B more of a journey. Waypoints make the World in this game just as bad as flying mounts do in WoW.

In WoW, the world is added to the game is very absent to a high level player because they can fly through it and are not in direct contact with it. In gw2, you don’t even fly over it, you just teleport all over the place. I think this makes the world much less epic.

Yes, because I’m sure with all the development going on Anet has never once considered mounts. :P Maybe after the 800th thread and dead horse conversation they will make a ruling based on the same worn out tires that keep spinning in every thread about mounts. Maybe Anet will be convinced one way or another after mount thread 834 since I’m sure they have never even heard of mounts. LOL

Yo dawg, we heard you like threads about mounts, so we got you threads about threads about mounts.

They might just end up making travel form tonics that give you 33% move speed boosts purchaseable from the gem store…

You mistake my meaning. I’m not saying enough requests will eventually change their minds, though they’ve left the possibility open by not saying they don’t want to add mounts.

I’m saying the lack of mounts to some is like the spot where a tooth is missing that you can’t stop worrying with your tongue. People will continue to ask for mounts because it feels like they should exist. Especially if Arenanet never comes out with a more definitive statement than, “not at this time.”

MOUNTS are AWESOME, make them cosmetics (or maybe 25% speed increase), i don’t care just add them to the game already!!!

Instead of shouting “mounts”, try giving examples of what you want. And find something that fits the game and each race.

So why are mounts a bad idea? Because some other games have them and ANet wants to be “unique”? Or are there better reasons?

I’ve never seen a mount in game that really appealed to me. They’re silly, or animated poorly (seriously, Blizzard, horse’s front legs don’t look like humans in a horse costume), or chunkily rendered. They take time to use, block views (or doors or mailboxes). I have a horse in TESO and with all the stopping to gather ore and plants and wood I might as well just run.

While I’m sure ANet would do something innovative if they stick to the “what’s not fun about this game mechanic? Away with it!” policy, it really really really isn’t going to be needed in this game world. Just because everyone else does it doesn’t mean we have to! Let the fantasy be different, hey? Like … Earth has seasons. So any fantasy setting has the same ones. Until you get to GoT where it’s summer for generations, until winter comes. Explained? No. Interesting difference? Yes.
