Magi's The New Meta
Well I am making a Magi’s ascended staff but not as a primary weapon. It is just for some of those times where I want to provide some more healing(like during the balthazar escort event).
Also considering it as a replacement for Cleric’s since for bigger attacks you want to avoid it instead of taking the hit anyway.
IIRC Exotic Magi gear drops are pretty much exclusive to fractals so that might also explain why they seem so much higher.
At least the magi insignias/inscriptions will get you a decent amount of gold.
I know it is exclusive I just mean, I only have 112% base MF (if that has any influence) and on average [using a spreadsheet] I’m walking out of each fractal with 1.87 pieces of Magi exotic pieces not including the chest.
Thanks for the input certainly, looks like i’ll just use it for more points in Fashion Wars 2
I use magi gear for a Ranger build that involves stacking lots and lots of might on me and my pet. Along with the immobilize and cripples I bring with the build, and my pets have no problem killing dozens of poor enemy players in WvW, even those slippery thieves…other than very niche builds that focus entirely on one or two things though, its worthless (just like almost any other gear stat).
(And since Zealot’s stats got released, it might actually be better to go for that instead.)
Some Magi or Shaman items are a good mix in some professions / builds, however even then I would not go with a full set.
For example: a full cleric’s guard/war actually has too much armor and not enough health, likewise with a celestial or cleric’s ele. You can use a Magi weapon in those 2 cases to bring up your health pool a bit while retaining the healing power.
If all you do is PvE then it may be pretty useless at this time, but remember, changes are coming to the game, so I would hold onto this chest, don’t open it for now.
