I’m wondering if the theory crafters have been hard at work disseminating Magic Find and how it affects drop rates. I ask, because I haven’t noticed any appreciable increase in drop rarity or drop rates while farming in Cursed Shore, whether I’m running around with no MF, or loaded up with tons of MF buffs.

And yes, I understand some people will have anecdotal stories about that one time when they put on a bunch of MF and had three exotics drop in five minutes, yadda yadda. But I’d really like to hear if there’s been any number-crunching going on; something more tangible to prove that MF does indeed work, and what exactly it does for drop rates as a whole.

Not much difference on my character thb.. I still got tons of masterwork and fine gears from des in orr dispite having zero mf gears.

I also hate using two sets of armors in mmo….. Thats why even if mf can help, i wont bother to collect a set just for farming

Also, it doesent work on chests only on mobs.

Do you have a link for this information? Or is this just hearsay?

If you have a 1.85% drop change and you have 20% magic find you will have a
2.24% change instead of the 1.85% !

To be honest i have no idea how it works Would make sense though

just use magic find/gold find food, but, don’t get MF gear. that’s what i do.

Hmm, I was doing a small experiment on the Claw of Jormag and the elementals which he summons next to the turrets. I was fighting the elementals aiming to get the lodestone. I had 3 attempts in my normal gear (0% MF):
1. 1 Lodestone
2. 0 Lodestones
3. 0 Lodestones
Than I have took my MF gear (155% in total) and did the same 3 times:
1. 0 Lodestones
2. 3 Lodestones
3. 1 Lodestone
Not much of a difference on anything else, but these 3 lodestones in 30 min really suprised me.
