I don’t really see relevance of a flying carpet to the game unless Elona comes to life, then it would make sense, I still love it though haha. It’s really cool flying around and the Lich Raiment is awesome too.

Aww don’t be like that lol. But ofc, in the end games are business, at least the big games are and they have to be, as they’re answerable to others above.

I’m desperately hoping they add Elona soon though. I have a soft spot for that place. GW1 was my first MMO and I started in Elona, so would love to see what Anet comes up with. Hopefully not too much destruction lol.

In short – don’t try to read too much in it, because most likely there’s no deeper meaning here.

Asian themed weapons and outfits hinting at Cantha? If only it were that simple.

If only Palawa Joko alias the scourge of Vabi makes a surprise visit at Halloween then im convinced. A flying carpet sounds like a random gem store item which has nothing to do with the lore (like many gem items)

The connection of the Flying Rug to Elona is like Legendaries to Lore.

imo, the flying carpet is a hint at SAB W3 which had a Genie. Adding a flying carpet out of nowhere doesn’t really make sense, though Elona is that style, so it’s not like it doesn’t fit into the game at all. I’d guess however that it’s a subtle hint towards Aladin, Robin Williams.
