Make Hearths quests repeatable?
I agree, but I think there should be a limit to how much hearts you can repeat in a day or week.
Or what they could do is this —
You get mail from one of the Heart-NPCs, asking for your assistance once again. And there could be three or five requests. This would promote re-exploration on a specific map.
I agree. But I suggest that they simply allow you to keep doing what the heart asks for. So you can keep turning in items. killing the mobs and gathering the widgets but at a reduced rate of reward. Probably make the reward mostly karma and perhaps another mail with cash in it. Just gear it so that it is better to move on to a new heart but don’t make continuing to help the locals worth nothing past a certain point.
The biggest reason I would like to see them do this is that it would encourage people to help low level friends that are in an area that they have already completed. The side benefit being that they would be able to see the heart objectives themselves making it easier again to help friends.
I could see there being a diminishing returns thing added to this though. that would be pretty understandable.
I wouldn’t mind seeing some of the ‘heart’ quests being repeatable. They would have to have some limitations though.
Maybe once a week?
Agreed but not a repeat more like a chain into a new event or goal of increasing difficulty that maybe ends in something that you could grind but that it wouldn’t be worth grinding.
The hearts are already in place and there is already a theme for the surrounding area so adding to them wouldn’t be that big an issue I don’t think. Perhaps double the goal each time but keep the reward the same so that if you wanted to repeat something that’s fine but you would get to a point where the amount of time you’re investing just makes no sense to keep doing it.
The hearts are by far my least favorite aspect of the game.
I really wish they’d not have put them in – rather make zone completion based on triggering/completing more dynamic events.
Cuz the hearts feel like chores, and feel like previous generation games.
They don’t need to make them repeatable at all, but they shouldn’t block you out from doing activities associated with them. Making them repeatable would just turn them into (more of) a grind.
I recall the training heart somewhere in Queensdale that let you practice blocking and firing a rifle. I filled up the heart just blocking because it was kind of fun and filled up pretty quickly, then I saw the rifle training. I never even got to pick up a rifle.
The trouble is that they’d have to modify them on a case by case basis.

There are some awesome suggestions here, and i agree with them. Especially from Viking and Proeliator. It would give much incentive to come back and do various tasks again. A limit would seem appropriate, though if you are willing to spend the time to complete them, I see no harm for being rewarded for.
Perhaps once a day a zone all the hearts will be repeatable? Just like how they did the Zaishen quest in GW1.
There is no harm in not liking them, but it would give the existing content to be done again.
Yes please, make them repeatable, let us talk to the quest giver and ask him if he wants aditional help. Just down-scale the rewards according to our level (If you are 80 doing a 15-25 level heart, you get only 20% of the reward for example)
I would want that the Heart Rewards scale upward. I’m not gonna teleport back to queensdale just to fulfill one single Heart that gives me a measly 70 copper. There needs to be an incentive to do them and pull me away from whatever I was doing before.
Repeatable would be great, Persoanally I’d suggest weekly repeatable time frame. That way you’re not going to encourage people to farm them, BUT those who do enjoy them will be able to go back and do the ones they liked the most !
:)
Money can’t buy happiness, But it allows you to search in more places to find it !
There’s really no reason NOT to make them repeatable. If people enjoy them, let them repeat them. Some of them are pretty astoundingly dull, but some are quite clever and worth repeating.
They only give a small amount of XP/Gold anyway. Make them a daily repeatable and it might encourage people to spread out a bit more.
