IMO main reason why GW2 sometimes seems boring is cause there is no challange, well beside the ones that players create themselves.
So im testing wuildstor this weekend and i get in city and pickup something from ground, and this “challange” starts where i gotta pickup trash around city in 2 minutes, so ok at first im like ye this is just copied from GW2, simple guild wars collect event, i start picking up trash with no hurry, after 30 seconds i get 100% BUT a voice says bronze completed and my 100% turns into 50% so i start getting nervous cause ofcourse i want gold, so i run faster and later start thinking whats fastest way to get from one trash to next, well in end i got to 97% and got only silver reward but i must say it was more fun picking up trash in WS than killing giant dragons in GW2.
We already have this system and everything but its just boring cause lets be honest, if you arent afk whole event you will get gold medal, i even normally kill jormag around dinner time cause i can afk and make dinner while killing him.
People should normally get bronze for participating in event and silver, gold should be for those who put in extra effort.
IMHO if getting medals would be harder and it would track on what medal you are then it would make game alot more fun, cause you would see that if you want that gold medal then you have stop slacking and improve your dmg or whatever you gotta do at specific event.
Currently most fun PVE content for me is EOTM champion train, just because you cant slack and have to do overall good dmg to tag the mob, and if champion is low hp then you gotta do bursty rotation.
Thoughts? Anyone else think that lack of challange takes the fun out of this game?

I think you are wright, gw1 was much more challenging, and that’s wat i liked about it.
here is not so much fun, bosses you just have to stay with them and it dousn’t matter what skills you use, you kill him.

As for gw 1 you had to change builds, take the right skills for the right content or your party will wipe.
So i will like it as they bring more challenge and more thinking to the game.
Like bosses that you have to do something before you can hit them, bosses that kill you mutch faster, that you have to look out that you don’t get hit or it is a wipe.

I know what you mean and i realy would like more challenge like gw1 had

The challenge is finding the right balance. What is challenging for you may be overwhelming for me…or vice versa. Some players are here for reasons other than “challenge” and making things more challenging doesn’t necessarily make them more enjoyable. What might be boring for you might be fun for me…and vice versa. Having played a number of different games, it seems to come down to this a lot…how to find those sweet spots in terms of difficulty, access, need for coordination, etc.

Having played since beta, I have seen some tweaking in different directions by Anet…and I suspect that this will go on in the future. Tune things up a bit at times…and tune them down at other times as the player population reacts to changes. I would not expect magnitudes of change in either direction though. I suspect that Anet is pursuing a general strategy that allows for tweaking up and down from time to time but I would be surprised if they changed things such that it was a fundamentally different game.

ANet Just needs to understand this:
- Harder Events are Not go from 2-3 Minutes of Auto-Attack to 5-10minutes of Auto-Attack.

If they understand that, they are half way gone to make events actually one nice experience to everybody, that after this patch, it’s huge zergs of people, and a lot of lag.
