I am pretty excited about being able to finally change some things which were bugging me about some of my characters And happy to finally have some good news for a change ^^°

Update I’ve waited the most eagerly for, much appreciated, and on the day after my birthday too.

Im assuming its a gem purchase? How much and what do you get with it?
I havent played the game in days because of the ascended gear/fractal level system debacle, so please enlighten me.

For the hair it is 250 gems
For full make over (hair, body, sex) it is 350.

For the self style kits, it’s 250 gems for one or 5 for 1000, and for the total makeover ones it’s 350 for 1 and 5 for 1400.

I don’t know, but race change might be difficult as it ties heavily into your personal story…

While all of my characters are perfect, it’s a great addition. Now if they would add faction armor to the gem shop, I got lots of rectangular green things to give.

With the total kit you can change everything except profession and race.

2 questions:

1) if i want t change eye colour wich should i buy?

2) if i use the full customization, do i have to start from scratch or i can modify from current body/hair etc >.>?

Total Makeover Kit
A single character may modify their appearance settings for height, physique, skin color, markings, face, hair, even gender. Race and profession will remain the same. The kit is consumed on accepting a new appearance.
350 gems, 5/1400 gems

Self-Style Hair Kit
A single character may modify their appearance settings for hair style, hair color, horns, and facial hair. The kit is consumed on accepting a new appearance.
250 gems, 5/1000 gems

A good addition to the gem shop. If they were smart they would keep adding things like this on a regular basis…every 2 weeks or so.

Still after all the recent problems, and even if my wife bought me two gem cards for christmas, I wont be spending a penny for a long while.

With the total makeover one, you can change all body stuff, including height, yes!

The other one does hair, horns and ears (at least sylvari ears), and facial hair. For eyes it would be the total one.

great to see them add this in it has been much needed for awhile, as others have said more of this useful/silly things in the gem store will make everyone more happy (more funny finishes would be fantastic).

Yeah i think more armor skins is a must also, they can keep adding more town clothes with every season event like with Christmas coming up i can see some santa kind of outfits or maybe elf outfits.

Hell, I would gladly accept my personal story being reset to “not completed”, if I could do a race change. I hate that everything looks like crap on my asura. Even the weapons are “sized” wrong.

They are looking at weapon size for asuras, according to the AMA posted recently.

Very, very glad to have these in.

just make a new character and level that sucker up by the time you reach 80 there will be more updats and the game will probably be better for it

I mean we can already get away with hiding are helms so its not like its lore braking and ZOMG you need it for protection

I know many of you will not understand this but I will GLADLY pay 250 gems to change my hair ribbons! While they were perfect for my beginning armor, now I must match everything I wear to these garish orange ribbons! So, yes I will spend the money to change nothing other than my ribbons. Neutral gray, that’s for me.

Is what they will also add some hairstyles breeds poor choice? = (

You have an official point of contact between players and Anet riiiiiight here – its called a forum – its where the majority of people look for updated information on the game.

So why insist of disseminating information to these and not your actual forum?

Probably an idiot to, but still holding out for a race change one day. Will pay pounds for it, not gold. Be do-able if they could fit some sort of story/event around it…but there are a million more important things to do first I spose haha.

Meh nevermind then. The only one I was looking forward was race change. But I guess that would be quite difficult considering all the cultural armor and stuff.

And it actually at least makes some of the decisions you make during char creation significant.

I read somewhere name change was part of the makeover options in GW1 (true?), so maybe it will be available eventually. My husband is also looking forward to a name change. The name he had used for 13 years in gaming was taken when we started and became available after the reserved names were released. He got the name on an alt but would prefer it on his main.

but when you think about that is exactly what it is

They still have to let us change accessory and underwear color without having to use makeover kits. Otherwise people will feel like they have to use kits every time they want to make their hair ornament color match the rest of the armor, or just get a makeover kit to change hair so it doesn’t have ornament. None of those things are good solutions to the problem.

Will I be able to change my character’s name too?

Because having a 3×2 meters norn guardian named Cherry is not realy fitting
