Q:
Manifesto
A:
If it was bought directly from ArenaNet you can get a refund up to 6 months after purchase.
But since I seem to recall you complaining on the forums for far longer than that, I doubt you will get a refund.
This information is incorrect. You have only 30 days in which a request for refund will be considered.
Game Refunds
If you purchased Guild Wars 2 from http://buy.guildwars2.com and would like a refund, please submit a request to our Support team within 30 days of the purchase and provide the following information:
Yes you can. File a support ticket.

That’s rather misleading.
It depends on how long s/he has owned it and how many hours s/he has played it. There is a limit.

Good luck with that, doubt it will happen.

I know. But since I’m not the one who wants to do this, I won’t bother looking for information for that person.
I’m just telling him that it’s possible.

Lol I wasn’t looking for the info either, but if you’re going to tell them that they can, you should probably give them a heads up that there are some limitations to it. Some people are just stupid enough to expect to get a refund despite having owned it for an extended length of time and/or played it for a few hundred hours.
Had a guildie like that in fact. He played several hundred hours, decided he didn’t like one of their updates and wanted him money back. He cleaned out his account, got himself temp banned (was funny to watch, honestly), and then filed a refund ticket. Long story short, yeah he got denied. (And then kittened loud and long about being ripped off, blah blah)

Filed the support ticket, thanks.
Fingers crossed in the hope i get refunded:).

My guess is he want to quit the game but is trying to focus an excuse to do so to this type of person they cant quit unless the game they play is not going on with out them kind of the point of view they are the center of the universe.

Try the gem store.
Depending on the delivery time that would be an awesome service. But it will probably be like “only valid in the US”.
“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”

They should put popcorn in there…. that would be nifty. Could make a cute toy.

Then you should have titled the thread “How do I get a refund?”
Better yet, you should have googled “How to get a refund for Guild Wars 2”

Good god please give him a refund and close the account. We don’t need any more idiots touting the precious manifesto.

Yes. The manifesto has been used as a weapon in countless inflammatory threads aimed at attacking the devs, Anet, fans, and the game in general. It might have once been discussed seriously, but no more. People have taken it too far and then some. Most of it is to do with simple misinterpretations of the video’s intent and message. Quoting out of context and substituting personal definitions for statements made by devs. Mentioning the manifesto at this point is like putting a trollface sticker on your entire argument. The only way the devs could have pleased the nay-sayers is if they had spoken in legalese. These people thrive on confrontation and will never be happy. Arguing with them is pointless. Threads like this are pointless.

May or may not be a troll thread. The Manifesto no longer applies and is therefor misleading as to what the game actually is in its current state. One would think they would remove it and many of the other videos to avoid any problems like this from happening again… and again. Its sad but GW2 isn’t the game advertised in their Manifesto anymore. As more people seem to like what was laid out in that video than what we have, perhaps that’s why they keep it. It still sells them?
I do agree that this isn’t the place for a legitimate refund request. Good luck with that though.
The fact OP knows about the manifesto implies they’ve been playing for awhile and are trying to get yet another “ANET lied in their manifesto—let’s talk about how much we hate them!” post onto the forums.
His post history alone goes back 1yr, so if he can get a refund for a game after playing for over a year, logging countless hours, then Anet is the greatest game company on the planet.
This isn’t Wal-Mart where you can bring back a fully eaten roasted chicken and tell them you didn’t like it and get a full refund.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
