Guys, we get it…They turned their back on a lot of what they promised, but please can we stop making 1000 new threads all linking the same quotes, videos and complaints?

The first few were warranted, but it is getting annoying now.

Please at least try to attach your feedback to existing posts so that people actually giving constructive advice or seeking it don’t get their posts thrown off of page 1 with the spam of just complaints.

I know the game is far FAR from perfect….but it’s still pretty darn good.

Tyria is good. Combat is good. Graphics are good. Story is good. Dungeons are good. Crafting is good. (Notice all things you can do leveling 1-80).

Gear grinding is not good.
LFG fractal levels is not good.

The above two items are weighing down the “good” thats in this game. I haven’t touched my alt in a week because theres no point. I need to keep up with everyone in FoTM levels.

Karma is as abundant as air, and as useless as the Kardashians.

It’s a protest. It’s meant to be in your face and get attention. You don’t just pack up and leave your protest once people have seen it. You keep getting in their face to let them know whatever it is that’s going on is not okay, you’re not okay with it, and it needs to change.

Fractals is character bound? Ah well. I really like the game and couldn’t give two kitten about grinding out gear.

If I want it, I’ll put in the time to get it.

Why can’t people let others complain? Why can’t they allow others to dislike the game. Other players’ opinions don’t need mitigating. They aren’t saying you are wrong for liking the game, can’t you respect them the same?

well said- and OP the reason why people keep linking the manifesto and relevant quotes is because this company sadly seems to have forgotten it existed.
I am sorry it annoys you but I hope it shames this company.

Yup, it’s a sign of hope really – people are trying to keep what little hope they have – that change will come!

No.

I will continue to haunt these forums whenever I like, on all accounts that are not refunded.

They need to hear our outrage. Everyone who visits this forum needs to see the entire front page filled with anger, disappointment, and sadness. Gamer news outlets need to have a rich plethora of complaints to draw from. Players who don’t know what’s going on need to be stunned when they first visit the forums by the sheer number of complaint posts.

This is what the forums are for. If you don’t like it, don’t participate.

There is a point where your protest stops being seen as members angry and begins to be viewed as the vocal minority of users on the forum who wine over everything.

I agree that some posts are valid but when you keep on and on and on and on you become a nagging little annoyance that people just roll their eyes at and keep going.

You are also hurting the community more by hiding constructive posts aimed to help people or people asking questions. Do you not care about that aspect or do you only care about yourself?

Except:
I am complaining about one very specific thing.
I intend to be an annoyance. I have nothing to lose here.
The community I was a part of is now dead. What is left is those who wanted this change, and therefore I honestly couldn’t care less.

well i find forum appologists a nagging annoyance. they seem to feel duty bound to come and defend their beloved game from any criticism like some unpaid lackey looking for some extra magic find for being “loyal”

however i still have to accept that they are always gonna post so i deal with it.

That wouldn’t happen to be a personal attack would it? Because I thought those were against the rules here.

My experience is that Arenanet moderators are keeping the forum as tidy as they want it to be.
They merge what THEY think should be merged.
They remove what THEY think shouldn’t be on the forums.

It’s not that I even agree on what they merge or remove. It’s simply that I see no reason why they would need our help for any of that.

Players shouldn’t tell other players what type of posts they can or can not make.
Arenanet can do that perfectly fine without us…

It was a question posed to the community…Do you care more about clogging up the forums with the same complaint? Or do you care about actually letting people see the constructive posts.

People in these posts talk about what the people want etc. and claim to care but they seem to stop caring when it means that THEY aren’t the ones on the front page so the same complaint is made over and over bumping good posts off.

So the question was do you care more about yourself or the community?

No personal attacks, but you can take it as you please.

You must be new here. The rules don’t matter. Moderators hand out suspensions without infracting you, or giving you a reason. Sometimes, they do it hours later with no explanation and no deleted posts.

If the moderator likes what he has to say, it will stay despite the rules.
If the moderator does not like what he has to say, it will be deleted despite the rules.
If the moderator feels like it, you will be suspended without explanation, for an undefined period of time.

But, as it relates to the OP – what you see on the forums is the leftover posts. If the moderation wasn’t so inconsistent and censoring you would be amazed at the things that have been said.

I am not asking to blindly defend the game…heck in this very thread I have stated it has problems…heck look at my past posts I have done my share of complaining too.

All I am saying is when all you see is the same complaint in similar titled posts across the front page it lessens the impact of what you are trying to say, and it hurts the community by hiding otherwise constructive posts or discourages people from posting them because they know it will just get bumped down by people complaining.

Hell, I’m surprised half the posts with the manifestos aren’t deleted. It is a violation to call out Devs specifically. Whether it be about their failures, contributions, successes, or even quite simply just a quote.

In fact referring to the Devs as a whole is a violation according to the infraction I received yesterday for asking what Dev was responsible for doing something.

You can’t ask ArenaNet for personal responsibility. They’ll close the thread and delete it faster than you can hit the Post Reply button.

The ONLY Dev they have that has come forward and taken the brunt of pain/anguish for something that many perceived as a very buggy instance was Josh Foreman (gasp, did I just call out a Dev, I sure as hell did). He is the only one with a backbone to admit it was him. And you know what? He received a lot of praise for doing so. Too bad the rest of the company can’t take notice.

The loading screen for the event should have been an ArenaNet Dev char with two middle fingers, a troll face, and an endless spinning loading screen.

First of all, for the record… I do not feel like anything said thus far has been a personal attack towards me. At least not a good one. :-)

Chris, I see your core question here. I will answer you directly.

This game, pre-Ascended, was a different place for many of us. We did defend the game, even with all of it’s flaws and bugs. We fostered community. We had a great time.

Post-Ascended this is an entirely different game. Those who never liked the game managed to convince somebody in charge to change it at a fundamental level. They lied to us, tricked us out of our money, and will not refund those of us who were their earliest supporters.

So, what do we have left? Well, we own game accounts for a game we can’t stomach anymore. What’s cool though, is that each of those accounts comes along with a forum account that allows us to give feedback on the game.

Since we no longer have the product we purchased, we might as well use the forum access to provide feedback to the company that lied, cheated, deceived, and stole from us.

And, if in the process it annoys people who championed this change in the first place…

excellent.

TL;DR – If this game is going to become the opposite of what it claimed to be, then I hope it fails and everyone who is responsible for the change ends up in a soup line.

Chris, there are plenty of ‘thank you Anet’ posts bumping constructive posts down as well.
And those posts never even get merged, so they keep bumping.

And for the record: those posts aren’t any more constructive than the complaining posts, since they add exactly no usefull information except the OP’s personal view.

It’s a forum, deal with it.

And I doubt people are holding back ‘constructive posts’ because they fear it will be bumped of by the same negative posts.
Bumping happens all the time, by any posts.
And on top of that: is someone feels he has something to say on the forum, he usually will. Most people consider their own input most valuable and want it to be heard.
I know I am like that, and this topic proves you are like that as well.

You are just using that argument to your benefit, while you’re not in a position to speak for others.
Bit funny, since you just told someone in another topic he can’t speak for others…
