Map Completion in new zones?
Probably to keep the 100% map completion experience the same for new and old players. If they kept adding the new PoIs, waypoints, and vistas to the requirements every time they add a new map you’ll eventually wind up with old players telling new players how much faster and easier it used to be to complete that achievement.
Instead, it’s just leaving old players to tell new players “yeah, you need to complete every zone except for these 3. Why were you wasting time in Southsun?”
Map completion has changed to some degree. Twice I have found new area’s added to map completion, because the one char with 100% went back to 99% on both occasions. One area is in Brisbane Wildlands (think it ties in with Dry Top) & the other in Caledon Forest.
This is something, they should do.. seriously, otherwise those new maps will always be feeling inferior to the Maps that were there from begin on…
Anet already has added several times new Points of Interents, Way Points and lately also Renown Hearts with the NPC to the game, which they added also to the 100% Map Completion, which always set back a Character, who had previously 100% back to like 99%.
For Veterans, who already have completed the Maps, it is absolutely no problem, if they get resetted to under 100%, if Anet adds the new Maps also to the 100% complete, which they should absolutely do in the sense of gettign a real 100%, where 100% actualy also really means 100% having explored and not just only like 50% of the map, which was from game release on just only accessible.
Both sides, new players as like veterans would just profitate from this, if Anet would add the new maps always also to the 100% completion track, because both sides would get a new incentive to explore also the maps completely for their rewards, which would be for every new lvl 80 map 2 exotic items (or maybe here even better stuff, like crafting materials that help you to craft ascended items and with that I dont mean just piles of bloodstone dust or empyerial fragments and all this junk, no i measn things lie elonian leather, damask or, or deldrimor steel)
Anet could lock those maps for exploration also, until players have at least explored first all the other PvE maps to 100%, so that a player could explore them first then only, or level lock them, that those maps can’t be entered, until your character is at least level 80
Rewards for exploring the Maps Examples:
Southsun Cove: 50 Silver + 40 Karka Shells + 5 of all Crafting Materials for Ascended Items (Elonian Leather, Damask, Deldrimor Steel)
Dry Top: 50 Silver + 40 Ambrite Stones + 5 of all Crafting Materials for Ascended Items
Silverwastes: 50 Silver + 20 Charged Quartz Crystals + 5 of all Crafting Materials for Ascended Items
Would those maps have such rewards for exploring them, then players would really have an incentive to go and explore them with all of their characters to 100%
