I can’t seem to find any significant info other that the sneak peak info we go prior to the update. And after spending hours on end in several zones I still don’t have a grasp of how the system works. We were told in the sneak peak info that this reward would be so that we can get the materials we need for our legendary weapons quicker and easier. But after spending hours in one zone doing events. I have not gotten the one item listed as a map bonus reward that I needed out of the rewards. In fact between the zones I was in I can’t even identify the functionality. It’s as if it randomly was choosing what I get. However I doubt that this would be the case if it is a system that is supposed to help us get the stuff we need faster. After all like I said hours spent in each zone and multiple zones and not once did I get one of the items I needed out of the list shown. Would someone please explain exactly how this system is supposed to work.

I’m not certain on this, but I feel like it has something to do with map Meta events, or big bosses on maps. (Like the Krait Witch, or that Pirate boss) I thought it would be for normal events, big event chains seem the way to go. At least in the jungle.

o_O? Which zone were you doing this in?

I tried it in Mount Maelstrom and the basics of how it works became obvious pretty quickly.

You will get the “Next Reward” item after doing a certain amount of events. It felt like 2-3 events, group events might give more progress than regular events. It will eventually move on to a different item on the “Other Rewards” list. The “Other Rewards” list NOT an ordered list. When I was doing Mount Maelstrom it was rotating between Charged Lodestone, Charged Core and Ancient Bone for a few times before it rotated to Gossamer Scrap. I stopped at the Gossamer so I don’t know if that is a natural part of the reward progression or if it is some sort of diminishing return.

I can kind of confirm Khisanth’s post. I too was doing events in Mount Maelstrom (need those Chargeds for Bolt!) and checked periodically the map to see the ‘next Reward’.

I’ve got to say you’re pretty lucky though! I got about three Ancient Bones in succession before it changed to 5 silk… Then back to Ancient Bones.

Also worth noting that Jumping Puzzles give you a non-reward event completion prompt now, which seems to count towards your Map Reward. You’ll roughly get a reward every two events – if doing Mount Maelstrom, you’ve got many opportunities via MegaDestroyer and Crucible of Eternity unlock event chain.

Based on what ya’ll are saying this system is broken then. Because it is pointless to have map rewards that are supposed to be what they told us they would be if they are random. Or only after doing many events to get one. What is strange is none of the zones were consistent. In fireheart rise I was getting map bonuses for every event and they seemed to be rotating in the order they were listed. With rare exception if I did another event in quick succession of the previous one then I didn’t get a bonus.

But then in cursed shore I spent 3 hours and didn’t get one tier 6 item from the list. In fact event after event it was no reward at all or the same reward over and over. In sparkfly fen all I would get were venom sacks (tier 3). And I got it every event. So the real question: is it supposed to be a rotation? Because that would be inline with their info they posted about the stuff.
