My friend plays GW2 and on his map screen on the upper left side it shows things like how many view points you have found among other things, for some reason my map screen does not display this, is there something I have to do to allow me to see these?
No mate I am only level 11, and this problem has been there since I started the game.
Your to low level mate keep gaining levels and the map will open up.
It was deemed to much info for the new people to digest so it was locked out to level 18-20 if I remember right.
Same with hero points you wont get to gather those to 13 or so.

I would revert the changes to ignore personal story since you wont get a star on map to show you that you can continue story at level 20 if you do so.
Great that solved my problem. I will look forward to getting that info in the future. Game is great, I came to this from WoW after 11 years, it does nothing for me now. Anyway thanks for all your info, it was very helpful.
