They would still be visible when a player is targetted. I am not annoyed by titles per se, but by the sheer amount of screen clutter now caused by them.
The titles create now such a mess on the screen, there must be a way to turn them off.
A player should be able to turn off seeing titles in order to clear their screen.

Ahh, that makes more sense. Haven’t been able to log in yet. Yeah I could see that being a problem in WvW.
Imo they should only be visable with mouse over..not alweays on like now.

Ack, I was really impressed when playing GW2 on release that titles weren’t in-your-face as they were in GW1. It reduced the “importance” of them, and I was sure it was a conscious change by the developers to reduce focus on them.
PLEASE allow us to choose how titles are displayed on other players.

Who cares if people can see what another player has achieved?
I don’t care what someone else has done in the game. And I don’t want to see it on the screen. It’s just added distraction when at larger events like dragons that isn’t needed.
An option to turn it off is needed. Give the choice to the player to display or not.
Give us the option to turn off the kittening titles ASAP. Combat is already cluttered as it is!

Wow. Just logged in. This IS bad. I think it’s fine to display them upon targeting a player, but the screen clutter is outrageous. This is something that qualifies for an quick patch to fix the patch.
Edit: I suppose you can help others in the interim by choosing the ‘no title’ option in the achievements panel.

I think its a good change the only thing I would suggest is perhaps have it so the titles become more see-through when there are large amounts of people nearby in WvW just so people can see what’s going on in battle.
