March 4th; The End of Scarlet
Don’t celebrate yet.
We know that it is the end of the storyline (but for all we know it will evolve during that period, and not being available fully the first day) but there is nothing that confirms that it will be the end of Scarlet.
I have looking forward to it though, I have a feeling there might be something about a certain Dragon.

Scarlet will die at the end of this story and a new threat will rise. Scarlet is most likely only a pawn of a dragon.
Like Zoid, I gather the impression that Scarlet may be a dragon pawn. Between her powers, her army gathering, and the vision from her story, the pieces do seem to fall into place for it.
Since she is a character we love to hate, I could see her being made into a dragon champion, and another world boss after her master makes himself known.
Or he could simply kill her, her usefulness having passed. Considering she probably wouldn’t take to well to being someone else’s pawn, I could see her rushing in madly and getting herself slaughtered…although that wouldn’t quite fit with her insane, yet calculating manner. Hmmm…
Options, options…
such a shame.
I hope we get some more fractals with her in it.

It actually wouldn’t surprise me if that was the case. As much as it’s an old and somewhat established idea in sci-fi/fantasy I’ve never liked the idea that seeing all of reality could drive you insane. Even if the person in question isn’t quite Zapod Beeblebrox I doubt anyone could be that freaked out by their own unimportance.
And if it did I think it’d be more the drooling, mumbling, afraid to ever go outside because there’s just so much of it, sort of insane. Whereas what happened to Scarlet seems more like she was fairly unhinged to begin with and something found her mind out in the Mists and finally gave her the purpose she’s been looking for. Which seems to be to destroy everything with occasional side-steps into making new things, particularly minions.
That is decidedly draconic behaviour. Couple it with the fact that the one consistent ability they’ve all shown is to corrupt and take over living things to serve them it wouldn’t surprise me at all if she’s become a champion for one of them, maybe without even knowing it herself.
Back to the original point though regardless of what happens afterwards I hope we do get to kill her. I don’t dislike her as a character the way some people do and I’m not overly fond of the fact that our characters seem to consider killing their enemies the first, last and only option but I hate stories where the heroes spend ages chasing down the villain and then neither side dies. No matter what happens it feels unfinished.
It wouldn’t be out of character for Scarlet to end up in prison (although it’d have to be a custom made, teleportation proof, prison) but then I’d worry that she’ll end up like a Batman villain – escaping every time someone at Anet decides she’s the character they want to use, and then being recaptured so everything is reset for next time.
I much prefer the old Nose myth approach – it ain’t over until everyone is dead.

FYI, Scarlet isn’t a dragon’s pawn/champion/whatever. Dragons are Scarlet pawns.

I wouldn’t mind Scarlet being imprisoned, only to escape occasionally to lead a Scarlet Invasion event in one of the open world zones, with success of the event resulting in her being imprisoned again. (I wouldn’t want to lose the ability to collect Watchwork Sprockets.)
With a bit of effort, she could even be reworked as a Guild Bounty target.
It will be the end of Scarlet and the rise of an epic villain freed by the death of her. And this villain will be known as Super-Scarlet.

One does not simply kill Scarlet. The tower was simply a test. The toxin was just a side effect. After failing to deal the final blow during the finale, Scarlet is forced to prematurely fuse with her plant-like creation to become a dragon-level threat. Fear not, she was incapable of taking control and her individuality was lost.
You wanted a new dragon to appear? Prepare for the red one.
the fact that Scarlet is now used in the same way Chuck Norris jokes are used…kind of shows how lame she is
