I was wondering what was the reasoning behind putting so many spoilers in Marriner plaque inscriptions? I bought both of the previous books and I really enjoyed them (especially “Ghosts of Ascalon”, that is one hell of a book!), now I am waiting for Amazon to deliver the third one (“Sea of Sorrows”) but after reading all of the plaque inscriptions I think I got all of the book’s content spoiled

My intention was not actually to read them at all but one of my characters was in real need of 5 skill points so I decided to see if reading the plaques was a viable solution to get them. Imagine my surprise when after reading the first couple of plaques I learned what was the fate of the main characters, what was the highlight of the book, who got to live and who to die o.O I get it that the plaques were meant to promote the new book but really why put so many spoilers when you probably know that some people might read the plaques (either accidentally or because of pure impatience)?

There have been some warnings from others that the scavenger hunt has spoilers for the book. Reason why I haven’t touched it yet, since I haven’t started the book yet.

But I wish they considered that and maybe warned people in-game when they start it. Sadly though, I guess its just something up to the player. You did mention that you were leery about reading them because of that.

Hopefully you can still enjoy the book for what it is despite this though. Its supposed to be pretty good.

Well there were already other spoilers about the book in the game before the plaques (like the commodore and also the fact that lions arch even exists) so I don’t think its too big a deal.

Plus there are people like me who aren’t too likely to end up reading the books but are still interested in the lore of the universe which I think is why they were put in game in the first place

Most wanted in game additions: Beastiary, readable books

Well yeah but some of these spoilers are major plot points for the book. This isn’t well done as far as I’m concerned. Fortunately I read the book before looking for the plaques.
