Hey guys, I’ve seen some achievements that give mastery points. I don’t have HoT yet, planning on buying once I get lvl 80 because it will be cheaper then (I’m a slow leveler :p)

My question is: what happens to those mastery points if I get the achievements before getting HoT? Are they lost forever? (As I can’t redo them) or somehow saved for when I get hot?

You still earn them, you simply can’t spend them.

No you don’t lose them. You are awarded them immediately after entering HoT.

Interestingly, the Achievement panel does not tell you if an achievement grants mastery points if you’ve done it. But it’s definitely there.

I’d add a quick caution that when you unlock the Mastery system, have a really good look at the Central Tyria (CT) Mastery lines and decide which you really want before going ‘Wheee!’ and spending any of the points that you’ve earned.

Unless you enjoy doing literally every type of content that the game offers, you may find that you’ll never be able to unlock every CT line – so it’s best to prioritise and spend wisely.
