I have three MPs that I could spend on stuff that, up until now, not really worried about although the options do look quite handy like speed boost mushrooms.

But, dot, dot dot

Do you think it’d be worth hanging on to them for PoF? Or will that use different types of MP? I did look but didn’t see anything.

What would you do?

PoF will use their own Mastery Points, just like HoT and Core Tyria points are different.

There are 2 types of mastery, red (Tyria) and green (HoT), these are separated and you can level them up only on corresponding maps – Tyria maps – Red mastery, HoT maps for green.

To get mastery points you need to:
click H -> go to achievements tab and look around, there are marks of mastery next to things you can do: personal story, bosses, collections, mastery insights etc.
to get HoT mastery you go to the HoT collections in achievement tab, you will get points for: story quests, participation in adventures in HoT maps, mastery insights and strongboxes (what are mostly easy to get when you’ve already leveled up gliding to 3) there’s quick link to one of the guides about HoT mastery: http://dulfy.net/2015/10/30/gw2-verdant-brinks-mastery-insights-and-strongboxes-guide/ you can find there more guides ( GW2 tab -> Heart of Thorns, there are also guides for core game) Gl hf ;D
After finishing core game story you should get ±11 Tyria mastery points (I don’t remember)
You will get huge ammount of HoT mastery during HoT story.
