Since they are crafting materials (and as far as I know only crafting materials) they should be kept in the material storage.

As it is I’m keeping a stack of Shimmering, and slowly collecting a stack of Tenbrous (luckily one of my guilds swapped halls just after I finished the first stack) in my bank, but it’s irritating to go to the hall, harvest materials, deposit all the rest automatically and then have to go to the bank to drop them off manually.

^I find that the Scribing station is right next to the harvesting area, so the ‘bank’ is quite handy. (I’m not a Scribe.)

Still, it would be nice if those items could go into Material Storage.

I don’t know the distance between the harvesting synthesizers and the Scribing station in the Gilded Hollow, since I don’t have a guild with that hall. But in Lost Precipice, those 2 are right next to each other. If it’s an inconvenience to cross the distance between the 2, it’s a very minor inconvenience at best.

But granted, since they’re crafting materials they are supposed to be put in material collection. The same goes for tubs of wood glue and bolts of embroidered silk. Two things that are also only used as crafting materials, yet the material storage has no place for them either.

In somewhat-upgraded Gilded Hollow, the scribing station and synthesizer nodes are just a few steps away from each other.

In fully upgraded Gilded Hollow, it’s a short run.

Also, I fully agree that scribing materials should get a section in material storage.

How does one a acquire Shimmering Crystals anyway? I read they where randomly on the guild NPC but I have checked that like a dozen times now and I never seem them.

They drop from the ore synthesizers in guild halls. It’s RNG, though. You don’t get one from every strike, and sometimes you get none at all. On the plus side, it’s possible to get 10 crystals from a single strike, though that’s a rare occurence.

I just tried now, and I got two Tenebrous Crystals. I have never got Shimmering Crystals from the synthesizer, only Tenebrous. Are they an extremely rare drop? The wiki says you can buy them from the Guild Trader but I have never seen them there either.

The location of the guild hall determines the type of Crystal? Our guild only has one Guild Hall, can you even have more than one?

you have 5 slots for guilds. additionally, 1 of the 5 guilds im in switched from golden hollow to lost precipice. i dont know how they did it, but perhaps someone else is familiar with switching, other players or perhaps customer service.

Shimmering crystals come from the Lost Precipice, while Tenebrous ones come from the Gilded Hollow. The Guild Trader sometimes sells them, but what she offers differs per day, so it’s not available every day. You need at least the Guild Trader 2 upgrade before she offers them, though, and you’ll find them in the second tab.

Switching guild halls is as easy as claiming your first. You just have to claim the other one, and all upgrades will be transferred to the new one, making the old one inaccessible (until you switch back again).

If you are in Gilded Hollow, you get tenebrous. If you are in Lost Precipice, then you get shimmering.

Personally, every guild I know uses Gilded Hollow (to my sadness).

Our guild hall is like level 50 (or more) and I have checked that second slot almost every day, but I often forget. Those things should be there EVERY day if you can’t mine them in Gilded Hollow.

That’s the general idea. Your choice of hall determines what is made there. Expect future halls to have their own special resources and armor skins. Guild halls are not aestheticall equal, and so it follows that what is constructed within them is not aesthetically equal either, as those skins are meant to be a reflection of the hall your guild has chosen.

Just like PvP skins come from PvP, the new WvW skins come from WvW, etc. Certain skins are limited to certain means of acquisition.

There is, however, nothing preventing you from establishing relationships with guilds that own other halls if you want the aesthetics that their hall provides. The system is designed to account for multiple guild membership.

You pay the 100 gold to the expedition NPC, and complete the expedition mission. When you switch halls this way, your guild hall is moved to the new one, and your guild retains all upgrades and guild inventory, though decorations are all placed in storage for obvious reasons.

This is the same system you’ll use to switch to new halls in the future as they are released in new expansions.
