Max characters increased to 71?
My guess is that it won’t increase the maximum amount, as it’s just telling you how many times you can make use of the sale price.
But I have to ask. What are you even using 70 character slots for?

Some of us just like our alts.
Can you test if you get 71, I want more char slots lol capped at 70 ftl
cap is still the same. someone with 70 slots who bought the extra character slot posted in the forum not long ago saying they didn’t get the slot.

I get that some people just like their alts. I’m unclear, however: if you like your alts to the tune of over six dozen… what’s wrong with buying a second account?

I can’t speak for others, but I would think convenience might be part of it. I’m sure some people find it a hassle to log out of one, and into another, and then have to mail things between accounts.
Personally, I’ve been doing that for years anyway (4 accounts in GW1). shrug

speaking for myself (with 64 slots) buying a second account is great, but it doesn’t have all the skins I’ve unlocked, and it isn’t linked to my gw1 account, so I wouldn’t have the HoM rewards there. I’d also have to buy the s2 story, and all the gem store items I’d be missing (tools etc).
by the time I was done, getting a new account would not be worth it to me just to go back to where I started 3-4 years ago, for the sake of creating alts

Yes, and it can be viewed positively or as a personal problem. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. I must /bow to the OP though; I only have 26 max level characters across two accounts.

Yeah, I have two accounts. However, while account-bound items are often the boon of the altoholic, having multiple accounts is sometimes therefore the bane.

Fair enough — thanks for the explanation.
I have 70 characters at the moment, I cannot buy a “normal character slot increase”, however the sale version with the experience scrolls tells me I can buy 1 more at this price. I just would like a confirmation if I do can get 71 characters
70 characters???!! May I know what you do in real life? :-)
A word of warning, the booster ate my 70’th character slot and I ended up with 69 characters, a-net refunded me the price of the item in gems but sadly I did not get my char slot back.
So as a note to anyone trying to buy it, dont, unless A-net adds more character slots.
Why would you have more then 1 of each class slot (9)…70 just seems ott.

I started out with the intent of doing 1 of each class as human, and then 1 of each armor weight in each of the other races. After rev was added, it would have been a total of 21 characters.
Somehow I’ve ended up with a full set of each race just for the hell of it…
If someone where to do that for each race and gender (cause some people like to do such things), that’s what….90 characters?
Multiple accounts are good for all those “one time a day things,” which can include dailies, gathering your home nodes, festival loot, and whatever else you can think of. Key farming, anyone? I have two computers in the office, so it is easy for me to get my alt accounts into the home nodes.
I have 18 slots on my main, and 4 accounts of 5 each for alt accounts, for a total of 38 characters. I don’t do any upgrades to the alts – no gems whatsoever, strictly core Tyria. The alts feed loot into the main (materials, festival rewards, items to salvage, whatever) and get actually played sparingly. Right now I’m a little burned out on GW so have all toons but one parked at a chest and the one runs around doing dailies.
The biggest challenge is the time to even do the “daily routine” for each account. Plus if you do spend time on an alt account, that is time not being spent on the main, progressing that account. And the game definitely rewards a more focused approach. But whatever, I normally enjoy what I do.
