Maximizing Karma Hearts
You get heart rewards on completion. If you don’t accept the reward you can’t see your screen. So, my advice is to pop booster before doing them.
Actually, after playing over 2k hours in the game, I was wrong :p When you complete a heart, the heart is on the right side of the screen and you have to click on it. However, I don’t know if they would stack. If they stack, I’m not sure how many you could stack before you would lose them or they would open automatically.
More than 4 rewards queued will automatically open with any map change.
I’ve no idea if Boosters effect the acceptance of the Renown Heart rewards or the actual completion of the Renown Heart. I suppose you could give it a try and find out.
Good luck.
Ok, after a small test:
If you leave the reward on the right side of the screen and pop a booster, it does increase the amount of karma gained.
So you can stack a few, then use a booster, then open them for more karma.
I did a heart and immediately opened the reward, got 265 karma (from 255 base)
I did another heart worth the same base 255 karma, then ate a kralk bar for 5% karma – opened the reward and got 278 karma.
Can I still stack more than 4 as long as I don’t map change?
you can leave them up on your screen and then pop boosters to use them.
You can stack more than 4 as long as you don’t map change.
Cool.. Thanks
I guess now it’s mostly a matter of completing as many hearts as possible up to 99%, then finishing them all at once? I suppose that would be the best way
I stack them all the time, until I have a chance to get some karma bonuses. A lot of people are nice enough to share banners during major events (e.g. Tequatl), at key points in Tyria/Mists (e.g. WvW spawn/garri and outside dungeons), and during special events (e.g. Lunar New Year in DR). Otherwise, I keep a few things on hand.
However, unless you are rigorous about managing the booster time/popping the hearts, it won’t make that much difference in the long run. You can generate karma more quickly by running lots of chained events (e.g. silverwastes or the Serpah-clearing-Centaur-camp chain in Harathi, with or without the Ulgoth), by running Fractals 10 levels below yours, or from daily bonuses.
