Maximum Magic Find (TOP Luck account)
Guild Hall Crafting.
I always wonder how people get to cap,
I have been playing rather actively since beta, and salvage like .. 97.8% of all I find (random number, I only sell rares over 60s and exotics over 1.33g) and I’m below 200%

I’m not to cap yet, like 250%ish, but I have salvaged no small quantity of ectos for dust over time. Ectos give a lot of luck and dust.
I’m sure that plenty of others have been salvaging ectos for that luck (and dust).
lucky ram/ monkey etc lanters.
I never ecto salvaged, and I still reached max. The ab and silver waste just gave a insane amount of gear to salvage.

I do that plus I salvage ectos for dust (usually cheaper than buy dust directly) and I buy salvage materials for the mats (also cheaper than buying directly).
It also depends on a lot on what sort of content you do & how often — some areas supply a lot more salvageable items than others.

When MF was released you could buy ectos by the thousands and salvage to get back roughly the same cost. Those with gold could have an entire inventory of 250 ecto stacks to salvage, lol. Extra fun if you didnt know how to rebind your mouse button.
Of course it became more expensive over time.
Guild Hall Crafting.
I would like something besides GH crafting.
It would be nice if they increased the magic find cap beyond 300% from luck. I realize magic find isn’t the most useful thing in the game and I also realize there’s probably not that many people that are capped. But for those of us that are capped, the stacks of exotic luck build up pretty quick and it kind of sucks that there’s really nothing to do with it beyond a few guildhall upgrades.
It would be nice if they increase it to 350%. It isn’t that high to throw the economy bonkers.
What would be realy nice is to make the steps from 300 to 301% etc. really incredibly high…so no 30k luck per % but…..300.000 luck or even a flat million per %. That would be high enough so that they never have to think about luck again in the next 20 years, and give us something with our excess luck to do. Also it is something not that easily maxable…..not that much influence on the ecconomy – so only a small amount of people would go crazy on the TP buying cheap salvageables….which may be not that bad at all…clearing out the useless stock there….
The essence of luck should be renamed to something else, and allow the user to invest it into
Karma up to 100%
XP Gain up to 100%
Gold Find up to 100%
Magic Find up to 300%
WxP increase up to 100%
WvW reward track gain up to100%
Spvp reward track gain up to100%
All of these could be options and just keep the values the same as they are for the Magic find so that it takes a long time to complete,
I don’t know why Anet ignore this type of thing, its like they have a spare of the moment idea, put it into the game, then forget about it completely.

If they ever did that, they’d adjust the base drop rates so that capped ones would give the same drop changes they do now (if you think the current drop rates are not calculated around the max MF people already, you’re naive).
So, the people with new maxed MF would still get the same drops they get now, but everyone else would get less.
I don’t really want to see that.

I think this would be a great iddea. Anet can fine tune each category depending on how easy they want players to be able to max out a certain category.

Making the requirements to hit 301% so high wouldn’t be any different than leaving the cap the same and jus thaving people throw their luck out honestly.
We really need something to do with the crazy amount of luck that we have…
Do you know if any developer read that post?
Guild Hall Crafting.
Okay, this is the second time in 24 hours that someone posts something about guilds/guild halls that confuses me.
No one ever explained those things to me, so I am curious:
- How can Luck be used for GH crafting?? (I crafted a lot already and have not stunbled across any such mechanic.)
- How can Tomes of Knowledge be used for the benefit of guilds? (Someone posted this last night, but didn’t respond to my question.)

There are some guild hall upgrades that require Luck and Tomes.
But that remark is pointless, naturally, once your guild hall is maxed out. While we were building our Hall, the Tomes (especially) were filled up completely before you could blink…
The solutions would be to use those as mats for some sort of consumable buffs.

Besides their use in the leveling process for your Guild Hall, they are also used for crafting all of the Chinese New Year items that rely on https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Red_Lantern_ as their base.

Ohh! Thank you.
Last question on my part: Does the Magical Enrichment infusion for amulets still work once you have reached the maximum? Meaning, giving you a total of +336% Luck?

Yes. Luck gets you up to +300%. All other Magic Find buffs (infusion, food, potions, boosters, guild buff, etc.) ADD more Magic Find on top of your luck.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Magic_Find
You can get an additional +355% on top of your +300% Luck for a total of +655%. Some maps have additional buffs on top of that as well for even higher Magic Find.

That’s good to know. I was afraid at that point the many Laurels spent on said infusions might become useless.

I can get behind this for sure. +1
My hope is that someday they give us either an eater or converter to use all our extra luck on. I leave the choice to them but hopefully someday they listen as every day more and more people reach the cap and all the luck is wasted.

This almost seems like a obvious solution.
I don’t think they’ll uppen karma to 100% though, double the karma could have harmful effects for the market, maybe like.. 30%?
and gold find is already part of the monthly chest.
All the others I would gladly approve of
Same. I reached 300% MF a while ago, and now I’m just accumulating stacks of Exotic Luck in my bank. My suggestion would be to create a Luck Muncher similar to Mawdrey II et. al. It eats up to 10 Exotic Lucks per day and produces random goods of the same type as the other munchers.
Oh god no another eater that basically gives you garbage? I hope this is NOT something Anet shoots for in replace for ppl who have capped (which im nowhere near) but that sounds like an awful idea, those eaters give items seriously worth little to nothing, and in some cases items that cant even be sold. I do agree that it should be able to work towards other things like karma,xp,gold etc.

Also, the AP-based MF bonuses do not count for the 300% cap, so you can get few percents more that way.

Question, are they applied separately? What I mean is that say you gather 36% MF from login rewards before you hit 300% magic find through consuming luck, can you then use luck to get to 336% MF, or are you capped at 300% and have to wait for more loyalty chests to go up any more, the MF from the loyalty chest just made it significantly easier to get to that point?
It’s not Magic Find that’s capped at 300%. It’s specifically Magic Find provided by Luck that’s capped at 300%.

You don’t get MF from login rewards – those are for gold. You get MF account bonuses from reaching higher tiers of AP. But yes, those are counted separately, the cap applies only to MF gained with luck. If you have 300% MF from luck, and 17% from achievement points, your passive total bonus before any boosts are added will be 317%.

Oh! Good idea. Craftable magic find utility buffs perhaps. (“Utility” as in the spanner/wrench icon type buffs.)
I’d give this crafting to jewellers. Remember doubloons? Copper, silver, gold, platinum. There could be a parallel series of utilities using the same metals and blue, green, yellow and orange luck. Thus the recipes would look along the lines of:
- Copper + Blue Luck = Tier 1 Luck Utility Buff
- Silver + Green Luck = Tier 2 Luck Utility Buff
- Gold + Yellow Luck = Tier 3 Luck Utility Buff
- Platinum + Orange Luck = Tier 4 Luck Utility Buff
So that’s a rough outline without any quantities or numbers, but enough detail to demonstrate the principal.
Luck is already refinable into higher tiers by the way, so that people can push blue luck into orange for the highest tier buff if that’s what they want.
Edit for clarity: the precious metals would be in the form of ore or ingots, not doubloons. The luck buff could give magic find, gold find, extra karma, xp, or whatever the designers wanted.

I have same problem, i’ve stacked tons of luck cause there is no way for use it in game. What i should do? should i use it or destroy it?
In my opinion developers need to:
- Add another maximum of luck
- New luck tiers
- Way to convert luck to gold
I don’t really get it, why dont they program that it stops dropping after your MF is capped. Or starts a new track for karma, I haven’t capped yet, but I would like a karma boosting track as well
