May I get a refund please?
If it bleads we can kill it
Yeah you can get a refund, just go ask them.
I’m not entirely sure if you’re serious here though and I’m not sure anyone would miss you.
really bad engineer
This gotta be a troll post, i can’t even….
HI OP, before you leave, can i have all your gold and mats?
we have to do things others may qualify as “evil”.
~Krunch Bloodrage, Looking For Group
I have 5g at level 22, I don’t see the issue. If I had not sold all those mats off, I’d probably be more than halfway up my crafting, if I cared to even do it.
Seriously… kill some things and get the mats for free. Lazy people made me extremely rich in WoW for years, and I’m seeing the same trend here in GW2.
I love lazy people for that reason alone, making me rich in a video game.
Okay so new drinking game for the forums. Anytime someone posts a waste of space thread, take a drink… I am in no way responsible for the alcohol poisoning you will incur if you decide to play this game.
(My post included, take your first drink)

There are loads of people with legendary’s etc,so there must be a way of earning alot of money.Farming the same place hour after hour isnt the way of doing it and anet doesn’t support this and its also a way to fight botters. If your into a mindless grinder where you can stay in one spot for 4 hours farming the same mobs.. im sure there are loads of crappy f2p’s like this around,,maybe check those out instead of a proper mmo like gw2 ?
Also, learn to read the support section, this thread wasn’t necessary if you had done so.

Balao, you either bought gold using gems, have another high lvl character, or got some extremely lucky awesome gear that I don’t know of and sold it. I’m fairly confident that you can’t be lvl 22 on your first character and have 5 gold… did you buy a lot of character spaces and level them all up to lvl 22 while saving every copper? Did you sell your characters soul to grenth for a few gold? What is your secret because I’m dying to know as I’m lvl 80 and 5g still takes a couple of hours of high level farming to get.

Sell crafting mats. Certain lower level crafting mats sell for a lot because as he said lazy people would rather shell out the silver/gold then explore zones and collect them. I have several sets of axes/picks/hoes in my bag and I will gather everything I see anywhere I go. Even in wvw. Then just sell it all. You make quite a bit of money.
At 80 it’s even easier, just salvage the right gear, especially some that has desired signets/runes in it. The TP is your best friend. I usually just vendor the lame blues/greens. Check tp prices on yellows and exotics to determine if it’s worth more to sell or salvage. All this can be done in tandem with whatever money making method you use.
I used the mats to level professions in the beginning but a friend of mine had 20g by level 50 or so doing this.

Sell all your kitten? What do you actually use money for at low levels if you don’t want to craft?
really bad engineer
I know these things, my question is how did you collect so much that you made 5g? I’m very efficient with my loot but I don’t come close to that in those levels. Granted, I never sold all of my crafting mats, but I still have a hard time believing that that gets you 5g by lvl 22. Not saying you are lying, just astounded that I didn’t get luckier when I was leveling up.
I’m calling complete bullkitten on this.
There’s no way you got hit by DR after only 10 minutes.
What really happened is:
You farmed for 10 minutes. Got a small run of bad luck and immediately labeled it as DR.

Sell your crafting mats. That’s what we’re saying. They sell for a lot and you have no use for them if you are not leveling a profession.
You played the game for a month and you want a refund? Lulz.
But yeah, sell crafting mats if you need money. One of the most reliable paths to financial self-sufficiency in any MMO is not crafting your own gear but gathering mats to sell to crafters. While they’re sweating out skill points, you’re counting out profits.
Then, afterward, if you really want to take up a craft for personal reasons, you can do so with a well-geared main, a fat roll of cash, and a bank filled with mats.
Seriously, I’m surprised people haven’t been leaving in droves over this issue.
People have been leaving in droves over this issue. Time spent vs Reward just plain sucks donkey balls in this game, and while the donkeys might like that…
Hey Wasabi, I regularly run the Southsun Cove events, and get hit with DR in about 10 minutes. Have a nice day.

Que sarcasm. Yes droves and droves and droves, well I hardly have to sit in a LA overflow server at all anymore, or stand knee deep in people at dragons, or temples. And omg the DR it’s so terrible, I never get rare drops or ANY drops, it’s a conspiracy!!!!
Hi there,
I was wondering how I got about getting a refund. You see, I recently bought the game and over a month or so got to level 80, and raised a few crafters. I was very much looking forward to hitting 80 and gearing up via the lovely crafted recipes, and other stuff, and then maybe going into dungeons.
I blew all the gold I had carefully saved on levelling appropriate crafts, and then making myself a set of magic find gear to better my chances of getting necessary drops to make the gear. I was expecting for it to take a while. After what seemed like 10 minutes I stopped getting drops. Almost before I had even started! What’s going on, I asked in guild and map chat, to then be told about Diminishing Returns.
Having read up on the phenomenon I’m shocked that any MMO dev team would hinder players in this way, an invasive mechanism effectively governing how people play. So what do I have to do – buy gems, and sell them for gold, in order to buy my crafting mats from the TP? I think not.
Seriously, I’m surprised people haven’t been leaving in droves over this issue. And that I cannot find more about it in these forums.
Signed, A disgusted customer.
Wrong forum to ask and DR doesn’t hit that fast.
Farming for mats does seem like an impossible fleet though (if you don’t buy from TP) but then and again what isn’t. I wish Anet would just admit that their game is a grind. There is no shame to it.
