Not in-game at the moment, What is the current Gem – Diamonds rate? And how much would a Eternity cost in $$.

Before anyone says anything. I work a lot, Have kids don’t have as much time as some people. It’s easier for me to do extra hours at work and buy the weapon outright.

Well let’s see, looks like current conversion rate is roughly 10 gold for every 100 gems, so $10 for 800 gems = 80 gold.

Eternity is selling for ~5000 gold atm, so 5000 / 80 = ~63.

63 * $10 = ~$630

50,000 gems = 5400.

Ten dollars/euros for 800 gems. Twenty dollars/euros for 1600 gems.

I’m not sure some shiny pixels are worth 600+ dollars, but…if that’s what you desire, go for it! =)

I used napkin math, but even with exact numbers, you’re probably looking at a range of 600+ dollars US. I’m not sure what that is in Euros, if you’re EU.

Basically, it’s probably not worth it, unless you get some really amazing bonuses for extra work hours and you have nothing else to spend money on. The going price for Eternity on the TP is definitely the most absurd part in all of this. 5k+ gold for one item, as I’m looking at it right now.

Yeah, I’m not sure how that works. You’re probably right.

Good luck with your decision. I wouldn’t pay that much, but then, I don’t have money to throw around either, so… yeah.

Anyway, have fun out there.

It doesn’t matter what server (NA or EU) you are on, rather what region of the game you purchased. If you purchased an EU version, you will buy Gems with euros. If you purchased an NA version of the game, you will pay in dollars.

And, again, it is 10 dollars or 10 euro for 800 Gems, 20 dollars or 20 euro for 1600 Gems, etc.

Don’t…….. With that same sum of money you could do something of much more consequence. Buy your mother something nice, your girlfriend?, boyfriend?, donate it to charity, buy a nice meal for friends, or anything of substance.

I’m not judging you mate, what you do with your money is your business.

That said, a few words of advice.

1. It’s a weapon skin. That’s all, just a skin. Is it really worth 5-600 dollars to you?

2. Buying a ton of gems to convert to gold to buy a legendary is exactly the kind of thing Anet wants you to do and one of the reasons they are kept so expensive. It’s not because they’re prestigious or a mark of skill or commitment. Please don’t enforce it by paying a ridiculous amount of money for one.

My wife and I have both made legendary weapons. There was no great feeling of accomplishment or happiness that we’d done it. It was more exhaustion and relief that the grind was over. Like many others, once the Legendary was one we took our first of many breaks.

You said you have children. I do too. You’ll get a lot more from that money by doing something with them.

The Legendary Weapon experience should be as much about the experience to get it as it is to wield the weapon. If it’s not for you, buying it from the TP isn’t going to make it better.

1 gold costs 12 cents in gem to gold conversion.

Eternity is 5050 gold right now if you bought it off the trading post.

That would cost $606 dollars.

A few months ago it only costed around $300-400 but people haven’t been trading their gold for gems so the prices keep climbing.

Spend the money on your kids.
