So, I thought Id post this just to gauge whether other people feel the same…

I struggle with my female ranger to find any tops which aren’t in coat form. I don’t want to look at a massive sheet of fabric when running about.

So I the same as a lot of others now wear “Aidens Coat”. And other than this the only other separate top I can think of is the “Krytan Jerkin” available from the gem store.

Personally I would like A-net to add more short tops to the Medium Armour selection. What do you think?

Players have been asking for more non-trenchcoat options for medium armor since launch. I’ve gotten to the point where I have Duelist (your pictured armor) on my Ranger, Aetherblade medium (short coat, gem store) on my Engineer and one of the personal story short coats on my Thief. I miss the non-coat options from the original Guild Wars.

Don’t hold your breath. They won’t even implement simple pants for female light armor users so I highly doubt there will be any changes to medium chest armor.

My male sylvari looks obese in all of the current medium armor options. It’s ghastly.

I agree. Would love to see more variety for mediums than just dresses hehe

There is one more top I missed – my human thief has the T3 top with the underboob showing.

I want to be able to see my ranger and not have her look like she found some dudes clothes in the woods.

Was just browsing all medium armor skins today and i just can’t find anything for my thief. I’m so sick of trenchcoats and can’t even look at them anymore…

At least female have a couple more options, male toons are cursed to wear trenchcoats.

Agreed. Skirts would be nice, if they were actually in game. But unfortunately all we have are a hundred variations on long coats.

Way too many coats. When my thief eventually gets to be 80 those non-coat options are going to be disappointingly small.

My female ranger uses TA armor, but now i regret making her human, i should have made her norn, the tier 1 and 3 norn looks much more cool.

If you want nice looking medium without a trench coat go for Asura. The other races have virtually no options – although Charr T1 cultural is pretty good.

As a male of any race we have absolutely 100% ZERO. I hate it.

Why am I not allowed to wear pants/shirt. Why’s it so forbidden?
Now I know how females felt IRL back when they were forced to wear dresses all the time and never pants.

I don’t mind coats. Its just there’s little decent option available for variety.

There is one skirt! if you get the medium viper armour with gems the bottoms are actually a skirt. And I agree about hats, as you can see I just have that hidden.

I totally feel your pain, and I agree shirt would be an awesome idea for guys, like kinda baggy piratey style ones!

I totally agree with you; If you read the whole thread the point is that if you don’t want to wear a coat this is your only option, and since we aren’t playing DOA Xtreme beach volleyball a boob tube and such shouldn’t be the answer.

Because I was so discouraged by the lack of pants on all armor classes. I’m not a fan of the tent skirts, trench coats, flames, skulls, and tribal themes. So I’d like more choice in the game.

Also, I’m all for the skimpier stuff too. Why beach wear wasn’t introduced with Southsun Cove, I have no idea. That’s a Gem purchase Anet missed out on.

The skimpy stuff is the reason I quit most games. It’s simply not needed in a game.

Don’t see what diff it makes whether the armour is skimpy or not. The character builds aren’t weirdly proportioned to look “sexier”.

I agree. Stop with the coat fetish for medium armours please Anet. GW1 had such a nice variety of armours for assassins (thiefs) and rangers, it’s sad that coats have taken up most of our choices. And I hate it.

Having skimpy armor has never really bothered me, my problem is how male and female versions of the same armor look absolutly NOTHING alike.

See an amor on a male toon that you like and go to preveiw it as a female to find out it doesnt even look the same.

1. No more coats
2. Both genders get armor that looks the alike if its the same set (med named looks better on females than males imo why do they look so different?)

I know the feeling. I main a thief, and it feels like coats get thrown at him from all angles. I was hoping to find something a little more ninja-like somewhere, but that just doesn’t happen for males. I had hopes when I saw my first duelist set on a female – but nope’d for male.

I love my Lv78 zerker medium armor back during release, was pretty unique back them since a lot where going for Karma armor that are trench coats.

But time passed by and I see many wearing my armor ^^….

So I decided to play a Guardian instead

Me too. You know how much mixing and matching it took me to get my mesmer to wear legit robes?

Medium wearers want more options without trenchcoats. Light armor wearers want more options that aren’t dressy ballgowns.

What’s a ‘coat’?

Oh anyway, here’s my Sylvari Thief.

I ahve also found only ONE medium armour that is not a coat. I am Charr and the armour top I’m using is T3 cultural. together with Krytan pants/leggings.

WHEN… is there going to be more good looking Medium armour? I keep my finger x:ed every time there comes something on Black Lion… and what did we get this time – a RE-SKIN of yet Another COAT! Things like that makes me SO disapointed, and so sad!

My posture as charr make coats look like big tents on me! And I have pretty cool legs that are just kept being hidden all the time.

My Ranger (yes, wearing MEDIUM armour) is my main and has the least good looking armour. Both my Guardian and Mesmer (both Charr) have better looking armour despite me not spending even Close the ammount of time or Money on them. And – they also have far more good-looking choises. My poor ranger only have ONE (that looks good).

I keep hoping/wish…
