Megaserver's VS RP'ers
Megaservers didn’t increase the amount of trolls. It just made them nearly impossible to avoid.

They also made one of the best communities in GW2 into a big heaping mess that im starting to not want a part of, this is one Gw2 player that may quit. 7,259 hours played in guild war’s 2 and now this happens.
That is the unfortunate nature of trolls… You leave the game, they win. Sadly, that’s not going to change no matter what is done…
Believe me, I’m on your side on this. But what exactly is Anet supposed to do? They have made things in the game so that nobody can troll you in combat by stealing kills or resources on the map. They also have a block option (which admittedly, I think could use some slight improvement by also blocking emotes…) and if they are being too vitriolic, they can be reported for abusive behavior.
Beyond that though, nobody, not even Anet, can control how players will act. If they are dead set on being kitten -hats, then unfortunately, they will be kitten -hats.
As Karuna has pointed out above, Megaservers didn’t increase the amount of trolls. It’s just dragged them out from their slimy little hiding places even more then usual.
… The human race would never have to worry about be oppressed again.”
I think trolls should have their computers smashed. ’Its all part of the game. U mad bro?’
Just do your best to ignore them. Trolls are always after a reaction, whether positive or negative. The worst thing they can get is apathy; if nobody pays any attention to them even if they’re spamming instruments or emoting inappropriately in the middle of your RP, they will eventually leave. (Of course, if you can trick them into verbally abusing you, you can report them. )
It creates more trolls because people are more anonymous now. You log in and you’re with people you’ve never seen and will never see again. This is the perfect breeding ground for trolls. See: internet.
Anet greatly underestimated the value of servers and server communities and now we’ve got what we got.
They should have known. EoTM was a test for megaservers and a big reason it’s a fail is because it has no sense of community — people don’t feel like they need to win. So now it’s just a massive karma train.
