Can the dagger ele, sword mesmer, or dagger necro be viable in PvP?

Viable as in it isn’t supers squishy yet can still do damage? Or will it just get throttled by medium/heavy armor melee professions?

PvP in general, and if it’s different for WvW and structured please specify.

It is of my knowledge that they are all viable for PvE, but if one is not, please let me know!

Thank you!

ive seen plenty of dagger ele’s that are next to impossible to kill and dish out a ton of damage really quick. sword mesmers are pretty tough too.

as for dagger necro, i play one. and i can say yes, they can put out a lot and take a lot, if your build is designed for it.

Daggers are the best ele setup you can pick for pvp. According to some, best for pve too.

agreed. its also the most entertaining.

oh and as for WvW on ele’s. most use a staff for the AoE abilities since theres more enemies in large groups. makes it easy to just rain death on them.

D/D is one of the best choices for ele. I like to use an auramancer build to keep up and share boons. You still have to spec into water to make up for the low hp/armor, but you’ll probably want powerful aura or cleansing water anyway. The basic formula is zephyr’s boon for fury/swiftness, elemental attunement for extras boons, and water for extra hp and condition removal. Then just toss in some cantrips on the right for sticky situations. D/D is also playable as a glass cannon burst using earthquake+fire attunement.
