This has always bothered me, atleast since I made my Quagganoriented guild. Where the toprank is Mellag(g)an.
It seems like it’s just a common misspelling, but it still gets on my nerves.
The sources that claim that it’s Mellaggan is the wikipage for the Goddess and the ascended ring “Mellaggans Whorl” and the ascended amulet “The Heart of Mellaggan”, the focus “Heart of Mellaggan” and the PoI in Gendarran Fields “Mellaggan Shrine”. Also some articles written about the Quaggans refer to her as Mellaggan.
But then we have the JP in Mellagans Grotto. And also most Quaggan NPC’s I’ve encountered refer to her as Mellagan. Examples on the wiki are Wiloo, Guard Lugung and Slishaa, and even Miknoo which is a Quaggan that hangs out around “Mellagan Shrine” in GF. And the Karma merchant in Malchors Leap, Varonos Parump sells an accessory called “Mellagan Safety Shell”.
So my thought is, is Mellaggan a way humans and other races refer to the Goddess as? And is Mellagan the way Quaggans refer to her? Or is this simply just a misspelling that has been repeated a lot?
