Merchandise Ideas - Open (even if the survey is closed)
I want my Asuran college logos please on a shirt or mug, or both!
I would love to see some of this merchandise come with chides that get you an in game version as well.
I just want a charr or asura tank top, or a cover for my iphone.

Books. More books. ALL THE BOOKS!
…….
ALL OF THEM!
My suggestions for shirts and the like would be, don’t slap a guild wars logo on everything, I don’t want to be a walking advertisement.
A good example of how to do it is this Pokemon shirt: http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/3/2/9/9/3/9/webimg/710508859_o.jpg
Closeup of the graphic: http://shirtigo.co/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/evolutionaryspectrum.jpg
It’s something you could just wear casually, and if someone catches the reference: great, for most it would just be a cool looking shirt.
Mobil apps! I want mobile apps
Just the WvW
R3200+
I submitted! I’d love a map.
Also, anyone who did not post this: “Custom 3D Player Character Statues. PLEASE” for "Other’ on question 4 is wrong. … :P

I’ll add my voice to those wanting to see mugs, glassware, coasters, and a GW2 map.
I’d also like to see more novels.
Custom statues of your character would be pretty cool as well.
1. Real-world Guild Wars 2 Music Boxes (like the one seen here that was never released: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjxK6RDmS6g except better looking aesthetically), each that play different melodies from the game.
2. One big real-world, detailed Atlas of every map in-game we can study/flip through.
i’d like to see a poll on what items players want on the Gem store
Items I would really like to see from the Gem Store:
1. A legit Acoustic Guitar (with F1, F2, F3, F4 and F5 Tuning capabilties upon equipping it, each button providing a different sound)
2. A legit Electric Guitar (with F1 (Distortion), F2 (Overdrive), F3, F4 and F5 (Tuning) capabilities upon equipping it, each button providing a different sound) in the Gem Store’s Toys tab.
3. A legit Violin (with F1, F2, F3, F4 and F5 Tuning capabilties upon equipping it, each button providing a different sound)
That would be a very awesome start!

I want a car magnet with GW2 logo to go with me and my hubby’s GW2 themed license plates.
With the survey going about new merchandise, I wanted to suggest a couple of ideas to ANet’s product division (i.e. that one employee working tirelessly in the boiler room):
- PEZ NPCs. I’d buy a Zojja Pez dispenser and I’m sure there would be tons of people interested in the other members of Destiny’s Butter Knife.
- Evon Gnashblade Piggy Bank. Realistically, it should have a sink-hole in the bottom, but that probably wouldn’t sell that well.
- Taimi’s Rock’em Sock’em Robots. Probably can just change the packaging and the colors of the original.
- Scarlet’s Chessboard. The red pieces are all minions of Scarlet; the white ones are members of Destiny’s Edge 2.0 (the Knights are Rox + Pet; the pawns are asura progeny, and the Rooks are Kasmeer, using a portal to castle with the King).
- Taimi’s Holographic Communicator. Alas, this would be merely a case for our mobile phones, since RL is still somewhat behind Tyrian tech in this regard.

I’d love a gw2 chessboard. But not a themed one involving Scarlett.
Officer of Power Overwhelming[ZERK].
First term Forum PvE Specialist.
ur chessboard idea sounds really cool tbh :0 if they did that id have to finally get decent at chess tho lmao…
Charr grade kitty litter….
“If it’s good enough for charr, it’s good enough for your cat”.
100% i would buy a series of well illustrated books that had all of the lore in them. like an exhaustive history of tyria. go ahead and write it up through the GW1 and GW2 story lines. you could just create a character to act as the player character in gw1 and make the gw2 main character a descendant of that original character. id pay a good bit for something like that. especially if it covered ALL the history and went through the lore as well.
second request: slippers. and beanies. ones made to look like in game helms or some of the more… interesting hair styles
Different color Quagan plushies.
Plushies of various miniatures.
Ceramic statues of various bosses (Mordremoth, Zhaitan, etc)
Books which intricately detail the lore of various adventurers such as Traherne.
Artwork of various locations and points of interest such as The Pale Tree.
White Mantle / Shining Blade T-Shirts!
I noted an option for women’s shirts, and for unisex shirts, but nothing for men’s shirts. Does this mean that something of a size to fit many men, only a write in option, is unlikely? At 6’3" and 190 lbs very rarely does a shirt made to be unisex fit.
How about a statue of Tybalt Leftpaw! One of the most popular characters in the gameworld.
Class badges + Elite Specs, very similar to that of the Pokemon series like this:
Eternal Phalanx [EPX] | Co-Leader
^(°-°)^ Action Figures ^(°-°)^
My computer desk will be happy.
Guild Wars the flamethrower. The kids love this one.
Tybalt plushie, i would like to have that.
More novels, i like to read
Well I can’t be wearing a Guild Wars 2 shirt because I don’t want my nerd showing in public.
I’d like a little Shatterer statue though, that would be cool.
To reiterate, I like the idea of small figurines of characters, monsters, as well as your own player characters, because one can use them for “pencil and paper” tabletop gaming.
(edited by Andy Warhol.6250)
Mmmm, Quaggan Hoodies.
How about merch that gives digital codes for ingame pets, achievements and armor sets. Not outfits.Armor sets or even pieces.
Was really hoping there’d be a mini-disc music option.
:/
Not sure if already mentioned. Someone posted on reddit. A 3D printing of a persons character of their choice. My wife would pay well for something like that. Because she would never hear the end of it if she didn’t buy me my main character.
I realy want my characters in 3D print!
Or even a tabletop battle game
Just the WvW
R3200+
charr and quaggan(including transformed angry quaggan) codpieces and merkins.
Aurora Glade
I’d love figurines of characters. I was personally a big fan of Destiny’s Edge (1.0 and 2.0) and all of the Order mentors. Maybe some other big names like Scarlet and Trahearne?
But what I want more than anything might be even easier to pull off: I want a toy golem! Bonus points if it lights up!
Also, I know some people suggested the idea of codes attached to items. That might be interesting, but I worry a lot of people might get frustrated with it if they’re random-draws or particularly exciting items tied to expensive merch.
Underwear. I might be crazy but I always think it’s fun to have some panties of boxershorts or the likes from a game or a movie etc…
The mysteries dissapear and life stands explained.”
If by “Books” you mean more GW2 novels, oh god yes! The lore of the GW universe has always excited me and I hope some lore nut at ArenaNet is working on a 4th book

Seafarer’s Rest | Northerner @ Dragon Season
Griffon Plush! I would love to have that
Europe
Mugs. Yes mugs. BIG usable mugs, not these cheap kitten ten cent 5 ounce pieces of crap. a good solid ceramic 32 ounce mug.
A shirt with Zojja wearing a shirt that says, “I’m with stupid” with the arrow pointing at Trahearne.
Give us The Breachmaker please it’s time to rule the world. (Yes this is serious wish >.<) and maybe big plush charr’s (btw charr’s are way more cute than ugly quaggans ,..,) , statues of your own character , DE (including Snaff) and dragons and books… a lot of them ^^ Ehh i guess i can only dream about that one but i wish to have my own Jormag’s Breath replica.
Figurines of various characters, IE like the Rytlock boxed figure,
Tee-Shirts,
Polo’s (need one or two for the golf course),
Asura or Charr driver (golf) head covers,
beer glasses, steins and tumblers,
Wall hanger weapons,
throw pillows,
Warning, what follows is a too-long diatribe about fashion, marketing, and merchandise design in general. I apologise for this. I am certain my definition of ‘good taste’ does not match all the people of the world.
Profession Logos, Guild Logos, Other simple monochome designs that don’t scream “DOWNLOAD GUILD WARS 2” like an advertisement with obnoxious screen printing. No overly complex graphic tees etc. You know, tasteful, fashionable things.
One thing that turns me off of buying “merch” for a lot of properties is the same reason I don’t buy t-shirts with a giant NIKE, JUST BUY NIKE STUFF that takes up the whole shirt.
Since merch isn’t Anet’s primary business, I want that merch to be for me, not for Anet’s advertising department, you know? Nobody really wants to wear a graphic tee with four thousand colors that is just objectively ugly as a t-shirt design.
Will I wear a logo on a beanie, or a small one around the breast pocket area of a shirt? Sure!
Will I wear a print hoodie if you, say, use a logo as a textile patterns so its both fashionable AND a way to let people that know the game ‘this is my thief hoodie’ while not screaming at people that don’t “HEY, GO BUY GUILD WARS 2!” and just let them think I have a nice hoodie?
Yes.
Now for obnoxious graphics, put it on a mug though. Not a travel mug. Travel mugs with graphics on them are an abomination. A REAL mug. You know, the kind they you have to remember not to spill and that breaks if you drop it on the kitchen floor. Mugs are traditionally a fine place for displaying complex visual designs and “focal prints”
Basically, design merchandise adults want that don’t look like larger versions of things you made for an eight year old and you’ve got my vote.
Also, I would like a “witty tshirt” that simply reads “I can outrun a centaur”

A new artbook please.
I’d love to see Key chain’s or wallets or flash drives. Something that’s affordable but still practical.
A crossover comic with DC or Marvel. It can be worked in during story mode where your character (who isn’t shown in the comic to avoid canonizing a certain race, class, and gender combo which is very important in a game with customization options) is on the way to kill an Elder Dragon but The Punisher snipes him before you get a chance to do so. The Pact is geared and ready to go…but The Punisher’s aim made all their prep unnecessary.
Hero-Tron figurine!!!!
This a good question to ask. I own over 1000 games and Guild Wars 2 is my favourite, yet the merchandise hasn’t been worthwhile yet.
FWIW I’m male and live in Ontario, Canada.
Things I would buy:
- Figures of major characters, bosses and monsters, quaggans, or golems. Large ones and small toy-sized ones.
- Plushies of quaggans and golems, as long as the golems are the wide golems and not the tiny Hero-Tron sized relay golems
- The awesome HoT logo on black t-shirts (and other clothing) that Arenanet employees and co wore during the Heart of Thorns announcement / and launch celebrations
- Hoodies. I wear a hoodie 365 days of the year and I need more of them. I usually wear it zipped up, so I wouldn’t be able to see a t-shirt design anyway. Make more hoodies.
- Jackets
- Small electronics like USB sticks or neat combinations like the Zojja-Golem USB hub
- Anything that comes with a physical “Collector’s Edition” of the next expansion, which Heart of Thorns did not have.
- Guild Wars 2 toaster, if it didn’t toast only the Gw2 logo on to the bread
- Headgear like caps and beanies, or stuff based off helmet armor from the game
- Socks!
- mugs that don’t suck
- anything not showing the charr, kodan, tengu, and other visually displeasing races
Things I would not buy:
- charr stuff
- artbook or soundtrack, despite both being amazing
- posters; I’ve already got a lot
- watches, wristbands
- umbrellas, backpacks, bags. including charr and quaggan backpacks or hoods, no thanks.
- mousepads
- stuff with digital unlocks; okay for some games but not gw2 thanks
- undergarments, lingerie
- books, unless they’re available locally
- Guild Wars 1 merchandise
- Notepads, stickers with map iconography e.g. commander tags, personal story stars
Merchandise depicting people or creatures should look pretty accurate, otherwise it’s a no-buy from first glance. It’s gotta be cute, sexy, or tough/fierce. Don’t make a quaggan look too uncanny and weird, a statue of Zojja making her look like an old man, or a dragon that looks like it would befriend you.
I’m much more likely to buy all Guild Wars 2 merchandise if it were available locally or if the shipping were cheap or waived if I made a large enough purchase online. I would have to see what products are available first.

This survey will close today, but I think you have a few more minutes to vote, if you care to do so.
Thanks so much to the thousands of people who took part. Your input is very much appreciated!

ArenaNet
Hi
I want simple things, such as
-Backpack (red or black)
-Caps
-More t-shirts!
More ideas for stuff not on the survey:
-Cards. Not postcards. Trading cards. Playing cards. Card games (or GW2-themed expansions for existing card games). Lore tidbits. Skills. Images of fancy gear. Cards with some sort of link to view the featured objects/actions/creatures/characters in-game. etc., etc.
-Coins. Collectible currencies from the various “nations” (i.e. Kryta, Ascalon, Orr, the Legions, the Dominion of Winds, the Tethyos Houses, Jotun trading stones…), perhaps in “gold”, “silver”, and “copper” denominations, if you’re feeling fancy.
-Minis. Miniature figures, suitable for, as an example, insertion into tabletop RPG games’ homebrew campaigns that “someone” may or may not be writing… Or, you know, for collectors who don’t want to spend $50-$200 on hyper-detailed, 18"-24" statues.
-SPOONS! Dude. Guys. ArenaNet. You make collecting spoons a thing in GW2, and don’t capitalize on its popularity by issuing GW2-themed collectors’ spoons? Come on, now…
